What does dumping in the ocean have to do with carbon in the air?  Also, you clearly have no understanding of how big the problem is.  Push the problem any further?  It would take a miracle or fusion power to "not push the problem any further."  Regulation can't do that.

The most regulation can do is put a Band-Aid on a bullet would.

that's ALL i am saying. band-aid. all i am saying is instead of pushing MORE, push LESS, how much less is up for debate, with me...but the notion of "let's push MORE pollution" is simply insanity talking.

that's all i am saying. the pollution in the ocean is still pollution, i included that criteria because i hate all types of mass pollution of illegal dumping perpetrated by corporations. i understand that sometimes we cannot be privy to certain situations that may arise within energy and fossil fuels, but there are certainly plenty of cases of companies dumping their sludge (purposely to avoid paying to discard it properly) into rivers, and lakes, and oceans...i mean, it happens more internationally than it does in North America, but it still happens alot, nevertheless.

and when it comes to the air, that's just the same difference, only it's for the pollution that comes from certain energy sources, and traffic sources, and agricultural sources; and this is why i brought up the oceans too, because i wanted to make a distinction: i don't think there is as much that we can do about the air pollution, ie, that we need fission products ect, as you've already suggested (our reliance is high on these products for obvious reasons that need not be expounded on) -- see, now you know my position better.

what i am saying is reasonable...saying "eh who cares, it's already too far fucked anyways for anyone to care if people pollute" is well...not.

What you are saying is naïve as fuck.  YOU are as much a part of the problem as anyone else.  The lifestyle you enjoy is only possible because of the carbon emitted to make it happen.  Go live off of berries in the forest, and then you can start preaching about the evils of excess.

If you really want to see how most of the world lives, you'll have to go to another country.  Before you do that, you'll have to leave the safety of mommy and daddy's house.  The truth is that you have internet, electricity, running water, and a toilet.  With just those four, you're already in the upper 20% of the world.

yeah, i am not talking about the rest of the world. just the within the west in the northern hemisphere. the rest of the world can do what it has to do -- but regardless, we can make corporations have to follow the rules just like anyone else...and that's all corporations...the damn trouble makers.

I didn't say anything about what you want.  I am talking about what you demand.  I am, of course, using the word "demand" in the economic sense...meaning...that access to the internet is something that you would consume at the current price. 

Don't blame corporations for giving you what you demand.

i'm not going to become ascetic when the rest of the world continues on it's path. why should i? this is why we have big old bodies of government and such...because my solo ass can't do shit, even if i was a Herculean God -- i couldn't sustain a population.

but we can prevent corporations from breaking already existing laws that prohibit them from certain disposal methods for waste -- we can manage things, that's the whole point of government -- if we can't do that, even manage things! then the US was inherently a failure! and from the looks of things, eventually, given another few decades, we could be heading for problems.

You can't regulate human nature.  People will always seek to improve their lives at the expense of the environment.  That has been the case since people have existed.  Frankly, it is true of every species on this planet as well.

that's unfortunately the case -- but i am not talking about people treating the environment badly, in and of itself, but i am talking about people and corporations trying to save $ by not following proper procedures in waste disposal.
