He hasn't done any research or anything to push his mind.... All he does is physical labor and thinks about god.

IQ doesn't mean much but I would say it has a correlation in relation to successful individuals.

Intelligence can be defined in different ways. It is one of the most difficult definitions to pinpoint. It is subjective and objective. IQ tests have been shown to be faulty in different areas. Your actually sounding a little ignorant on this subject.

I scored 139. Still need to take a few others to get an average result though. Can't trust a single test to give you an accurate reading; or at least I don't. Anyways, I believe in God, in the sense of the source. But I also recognize that I am ignorant. Above all I more or less believe in Absurdism and Taoism. But overall I recognize that everything is a mystery and that while believing in something may give that thing power, it doesn't necessarily make it "true".

McKenna gave a great example about uncertainty and when asked about things he believed were true he would say something along the lines of, "Its true enough."

So basically while I hold personal beliefs/wishes, I recognize at my core that I do not know and that everything is a mystery. I like to believe in God, and spirits, and other mysterious and supernatural things, but if pressed I will admit that I could be wrong and that they may not exist. Then again, if pressed I will admit that it's possible that this entire experience is a dream, that we may all be programs in some kind of matrix, etc.

Opinions can be fun, but when people forget that they actually don't know, and proclaim certainty and knowledge, well that's when cults get started and that's when people start killing each other... Lol

It's all a big game, a grand dance, a divine comedy.

We musnt forget the age-old lullaby, no doubt my favorite one, and perhaps the one filled with the most wisdom, "Row, row, row your boat. Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merilly. Life is but a dream."

Maybe being such a smarty pants and being so logic wasn't really doing it for him and despite his intelligence, he could attain a sense of refuge creating and believing in some fantasy that suits his needs to keep his happiness levels ticking over.

We all create our own fantasies. Our very experience is a fantasy. Science has hypothesized that the majority of our experience is projected illusion manifested in our minds. Most of what we are "aware" of is supposedly a figment of our imagination. They suggest that while a good deal of information is processed by the brain and allows us to sense a framework of our external reality, 99% of our perception of reality is basically filled in by our imagination.

So to accuse one person of being delusional and believing in fantasies may be true, it is also true for you. Still it is entirely possible those "fantasies" may be true. We can't honestly presume to know.

Then again those scientists may be full of shit. Who knows. :tongue2:

Like Isaac Newton, Gregor Mendel, or James Clerk Maxwell?  A lot of the great scientists had religious beliefs, it doesn't mean they were any less intelligent.  Weaker maybe.

I do believe hes onto something. What y'all are missing is that he isnt talking about the Christian God and Heaven that you all so despise, but about your own consciousness having a Godlike quality in creating the universe and thus also, a hereafter after death. If science is something you actually stay in touch with, the notion of enduring consciousness is a completely valid and one of the very few outcomes left to discern based on current physics. Either consciousness is finite, or it is not. That is what hes sinking his teeth into and its at the cutting edge of science.

That said: C.G. Jung was breathtakingly racist, a side of his that completely escaped all self scrutiny, so just the fact that someone is very bright in some fields doesnt mean he can't be thick as a brick in other fields.

But I do believe he is on to something. Everything happens on the clock of the observer, and the observer probably IS the clock separating out time and space out of something that is both and neither.
