I am very uncomfortable when people fight with each other on the open forum. I realize that the members of the forum should not cater to one person ("me"), but can't discipline of a member take place by PM? And who does the disciplining of a member?

It's possible that each thread started can potentially collapse into the chastising of one member by another, and the other member becoming defensive, and other members jumping in and taking sides. I see factions already being created, unfortunately, because of the fighting already going on.

Many of the threads started recently are collapsing into factions fighting over use of words rather than the issues raised.

sort of... we aren't exactly "at war", we simply neutralize malevolent forces.

Yes. Occasionally I forget this and start believing that I'm actually fighting with somebody... It is often hard to remember the difference between INCOMPATIBLE IDEAS, and INCOMPATIBLE PEOPLE.

Compatible people can have incompatible ideas and still be compatible. Its when the ideas overrun the person that makes people incompatible because they mistake somebody's IDEAS with just the PERSON..

this triggers lots of "fuck you man!"s
