At the start of WWII England's per capita GDP was double the French and Germans and Swedish. Why are the English so much poorer now? Statistics say that the standards dropped in the 60's and 70's and never recovered? Can I politely ask do people feel worst off then before? GDP per capita of Canada is almost U.S.D. $50,000..the UK is not even $40,000...wow.

It hasn't dropped.  One's fraction of the some select group's GDP does not correlate to a standard of living.  A simple walk through history makes this clear.

Look for statistics that actually describe a standard of living.  Food available, size of housing space, transportation, health care, life expectancy and infant mortality.  The GDP is normalized to money, not resources.

I'm guessing it has something to do with joining the EU

And then the massive subsequent influx of people from the poorest countries in the EU. Not that I've got anything against that, but they're willing to work for so little it's kinda screwing British people out of jobs.

I've seen London change from a place where most people were British, or spoke English, to a place where I can go hours without hearing anyone speak a word of English.

Then you've got all the PC crowd, killing our heritage and tradition in case a non-British person get's 'offended'.

It's basically just a giant balls up, and it's all coming to a head..

Part of the reason I'm gonna GTFO here asap and go to Oz.

I'm not that bothered about the employment aspect, i was referring more to the point of mass immigration and the bull shit that is political correctness.

Mass immigration means lost jobs and higher crime you would have to be a fool to support it.

i'm talking to bubbles. :bubbles: we've already established that lost jobs isn't what he's bothered about.

is it the crime rate increase, bubs? in influx of immigration brings criminal elements...ever heard of the Mafia?

The lists fucking endless, but the main reasons come down to segregation. All mass immigration has achieved in the UK, are vast areas and community's of people, from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds living completely segregated from one another.

Most immigrants are not assimilating, or integrating and most have absolutely no interest or respect for traditional British traditions and values.

Not to mention the hotbed of Islamic extremists that have now been born and raised in our own fucking country. More British Muslims fight for ISIS than the British army. Tell me how that's gonna go down in the minds of the native British population, which for the most part are inherently patriotic.

My only gripe with all the immagrants flooding in is how they (seemingly) refuse to integrate with the locals.. won't learn the language, live in segregated communities, etc.

I think you'll find this the most frequently cited reason for British people finding the influx difficult A/A, as I mentioned previously. I don't think it's exactly an unreasonable difficulty to experience, but coupled with the PC bullshit, it does tend to make one feel unwelcome in their home country.

I mean, if a huge chunk of your town/city was suddenly taken over by an incoming group who remained segregated and made little to no effort to integrate, would you not find that a little difficult?

I believe most humans would, tribal creatures that we are.

well, Jokebeard, that's a personal problem. do immigrants keep people out of their public space? then that obviously should be illegal.

otherwise...you see plenty of gated communities all across the western world. guess who predominantly lives there? not those whom would usually be called "immigrants".

the British government not doing anything about cracking down on jihadists is a problem. surely no one is denying that. it's the governments job (lest it falls on the people) to stop jihadi terrorists...yes, even they're just vocal about it, they should indeed be investigated, if there is any connection to any larger group.

and of course those with criminal records shouldn't be coming into the country, that's obvious.

and none of this has to do with being "PC"...or even "too PC". it's merely a matter of conflated interests.

A personal problem that is now shared by tens of millions of the native population. Some 77% of the native population are now opposed to mass immigration, 56% i believe strongly opposed.

Yeah, i think we all pretty much agree on this. But still, the problem is not likely to go away any time soon. The political elite live far removed, so it's not like they give two shits.

Like i said, instead of a multicultural utopia, mass immigrating has set the UK on a path toward racial segregation, which is now a full blown reality right across the country.

There's nothing wrong with organizing public services on a community level either, the problem with capitalism and socialism isn't the ideas, it is the people preaching these ideas while using underhanded and forceful tactics to circumvent democracy and push an agenda that stands on fear and lies rather than fairness and integrity.

Britain is far too tiny a country to begin with. i am not against multiculturalism, and as a Canadian, i can tell you we have the same sorts of problems here, but i suppose we have a lot more space, so it isn't as prevalent.

i wouldn't care if i was the only white English speaking guy for miles, but if i couldn't walk around my own neighborhood, that'd be a different story.

but then again, all i've seen as examples are those overblown Brit Independence videos.

who cares if there are predominantly Muslim areas? i wouldn't care, but then again, if i wasn't allowed there, because i'm not Muslim, or because i'm an Englishman, i'd obviously not stand for it.

but i wouldn't go poking around trying to provoke people, insinuating myself into a position to make it seem like there is hatred and unrest towards the English community, when it's only arrived at through provocation...when i see proof that Muslims, without provocation, are accosting Englishmen and women, and segregating them in their neighborhoods, then i believe the Muslims are intentionally threatening British independence.

i need actual proof that English people are not safe or welcome in their own country.

Akira is better read than at least 90% of the members here and probably at least 95% of the general population.  He may be many things but illiterate is not one of them.
