Where would you live?

I live in a somewhat represive country. For the most part day to day living isn't so bad but I just have a problem with the apparent politics of my govenment. So my question is; where is the ideal place (in your mind) to live? I'm not talking about the best place to grow weed or whatever. I'm talking about the kind of place that you could realy feel comfortable. Social, political, environmental aspects all considered.

Costa Rica always sounded nice to me. A good developing socialist govenrment with a good balance between a love for technology and a feeling a responsiblity towards the environment.

What do you think? Please don't turn this into a "my country is better then your countrt" thread. Thanks.

Sweden and norway are pretty good countries to love in. Maybe a little bit boring but the quality of life there is pretty good.

Hopefully Amsterdam. I want to visit sometime this century and one day perhaps live there. Although it's not THAT bad here for now, but yeah.

U.S Virgin Islands. The weather never changes, always beautiful. People are friendly and helpful. You can get a beachfront condo for 80K. The cost of living is a little on the high side, but it's well worth it.

Downfalls: Healthcare sucks.

Pick one; St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John - They're paradise on earth.

Jeez, I sound like a travel agent!

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, somewhere in the general area of the Netherlands. Probably somewhere away from the bustle of city life. But, if they decriminalise pot here, I'll just move to a different area of NZ and grow my own crops, and have a nice slow life :smile:

Canada for sure. I love livign in toronto. Its big city living with safety and everything. Everyone is polite here. The government and laws are great. Everything is perfect for good weather. And we even have snow!

Yup. The only place in the world where you hear people saying, "Thank you" to the automatic teller machines. It really throws you for a loop the first few times you hear it.
