Even I'll admit the man is not a good public speaker.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

I love how people try to depict "public speaking ability" as being some kind of secondary, trivial characteristic, like "being able to play golf" or "being able to cook a really mean ravioli."

The fact of the matter is that the way a person speaks in unscripted, unstaged, off-the-cuff situations is the truest, most unvarnished indication of that person's actual thought processes. I don't give a damn what the man says when acting as the mouthpiece of his speechwriters--when speaking from his own mind he's dim, bumbling, confused, and completely ill-at-ease both with the English language and with basic facts of general knowledge.

100% true. And can you believe he's the most powerful man in the world?

Anything stated above is fictional roleplay dialog by the character that is Slapnut Rob, in no way representing the actions or beliefs of the man behind the keys.

If he were dyslexic he would screw up the prepared speeches he reads from the Teleprompter even worse than he screws up his impromptu comments. Dyslexia is a reading disorder, not a speaking or a thinking disorder.

I've known people who are dyslexic, and some of them are indeed highly intelligent. I know they're intelligent because even if they have trouble reading, they can still express themselves verbally in ways that are clear, obviously the product of some thought, and in many cases even eloquent. Bush can do none of those things. He's a dimwit, pure and simple. He's very adept at a certain kind of bullying manipulativeness (a skill he clearly picked up within the family fold and one reinforced by a sense of patrician entitlement), but as a thinker in the purest sense of the term I doubt he would even make it into the top 50% of the general population, if that.

In theory, although I think that title is actually shared by Dick Cheney and Karl Rove.
