Can anyone else here "sense" when a tv or an electrical appliance is on? I can be in a room, the tv looks like it is off (blank screen), but I can sense that it is on. My family looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell one of them to turn the tv off. I cannot wear windup watches because the static in my body causes it to mess up. Or when you feel like you are being watched, or feel a presence around you, and your hair stands on end without you being scared or cold. It just happens. I hope I'm not alone, it's pretty cool.
(No one has yet ever been able to sneak up on me, even if I can't hear them, I can "sense" them). Anyone?

i can hear a ringing from a tv, that most of my friends can not. dunno if thats what you were talkin about though.

Yeah I get that too, kind of a high pitched ringing, buzzing noise. Its good now, I live in a house with no TV, just stereos and computers. I find it funny how some people will happily watch TV in silence but think that sitting around getting stoned or tripping is an antisocial activity.

I can usually tell when appliances are on, too.
And that's funny you mentioned not being snuck up on 'cause I'm notorious for that. I drove one of my college teammates crazy 'cause she was determined to startle me before the end of the year - of course, she never did.

The high-pitch "ringing" you hear from a tv comes from the flyback transformer. It runs at a fairly high cycle rate...high enough that it's beyond most people's hearing. Some people can hear those ultra-high pitch noises though.
I can. Personally I find it annoying as hell

As others described, the effect felt with tvs, is a common occurance, but perhaps it has caused you to tune into the vibrations of human energy as well.. would support the string theory.

I too can hear TVs when they are off. Most people think that when you turn an appliance off it's not using electricity; not always true. In fact, a very significant amount of your electricity bill goes to run these units when they are "shut off"
Today I brought a television up to my room. When I plugged it in (even though it was turned off) it made the noise. I couldn't stand it, so I unplugged the TV. The sound is part of the device, just because some people can't hear it doesn't mean your particularly special.
As for the unsneak-up-ability of a person, this can have many reasons. Maybe they filter out sounds that don't seem important, but the sounds register subconciously. Thats why it's not a suprise becuase they know someone is near by but they choose to ignore it because it doesn't seem like a threat. An 100+ pound body of pulsing fluid is bound to make some noise, and the human ear is pretty developed... just another way it's possible for a person to fool themselves.
I think people like to think of themselves as being better than they are. You spend alot of time in your body and you notice everything from a certain veiw point. You might think an idea is original, but chances are that someone else has already thought it before you... if only there could be some way to connect a group of minds together maybe it would conclude that they think more alike than any of the minds originally thought while seperated. Maybe I just need some sleep.
