I don't know what's up..
A clue is, it'll start up right after its primed well, and then die 3 seconds later..
So, I think that says it has good spark and all that.

It won't start again until it's primed again. So, I'm guessing it may be a fuel delivery problem... Not sure how the primer gets gas in there vs the pump

I know cars decently, but I'm clueless when it comes to this type of motor.

Can any of y'all provide any help? Thanks in advance!

The air filter might be too wet or dirty not allowing enough air through. Try taking it out and starting it.

K.. I took it off completely and it started and ran for an extra 2 seconds, but still died, even with no filter on

empty all the gas, go buy brand new gas, change spark plug ... vrrooom..

My guess would be it's not getting fuel but it could really be anything

Try dumping some seafoam in the gas and starting it several times to get the seafoam gas flowing through the carbthat may clean up any residue in the carb and get it running better

you can also start it up and see if it will stay running by spraying starting fluid in the intake, if it does its most likely not getting fuel

if the seafoam doesn't work and starting fluid does, just clean/rebuild the carb, it's real simple all you'll probably need is a philips screwdriver and maybe a 10mm socket/wrench

The gas in it is fine.. I mow fairly often....it was low when I tried initially, so I went and got more gas just now and filled it up.. So I don't think the gas quality is the issue...

I have old seafoam at work, does that shit expire?

i don't know. i would be wary personally, and seafoam is cheap at the store...

seafoam is probably the best fuel stabilizer etc on the market

whats the oil like?

you try starting fluid?

anything like twine, rope, plastic bags wrapped around the shaft/blade?

how is the compression when pulling the cord? does it want to pull back on you?

The fuel stabilizer is for fuel issues and storage over winter.. I don't think that's gonna be my fix

Oil needs to be changed. But otherwise fine.

I don't have starter fluid, so haven't tried that yet.

Prop is free from obstructions.

Compression feels normal.

I was mine.

My mower started and then 5 seconds later it died.

I started it up again, lasted for 5 second and it died.

I put that stuff in. I start it up and magically it works.

Trust me on this one. Get that stuff and your mower works again.
