i go sober all the time now. or by sober i mean just a few beers, more or less "sober". able to drive kind of stuff. it was always about raving for me and not the drugs. ofcourse i smashed drugs no doubt but yeah. in my town we have a really bad GHB problem, i seen heaps of people OD. but luckily OD'ing on GHB 9/10 times isn't fatal, but it looks fucked and is scary as shit.


what did your friend OD on if you don't mind me asking??

It was supposed to be mdma but the toxicology report said there was a high level of speed and meth in her blood.  What happened was, she bought 8 pills, took two, gave me one, and put the rest in her bra.  Problem about that was, they werent in a baggie...  so, inevitably, while dancing, the sweat desolved them and because it was the left side of her bra, the drugs went straight to her heart (or so I presume).  Scary shit seeing a good friend convulse more than an epileptic.  And my mom has grand Mal seizures.  So you can imagine what is worse that that. 

EDIT: it hadn't hit me as hard due to tolerances.

Your post makes it seem like you blame raving for all that stuff happening, but really it was poor choices that you made, the same type of poor choices that most people make outside of a rave environment. 

Going through withdrawals like you did says to me you were using drugs not commonly associated with the rave scene, stuff like heroin or benzos.  You probably would've gotten hooked on this stuff anyhow and the raves were incidental.

Speed and meth don't get absorbed via transdermal routes.  Your friend probably took 7 pills of an unknown substance and went into convulsions.  Imagine that.

No idea what I tok.  All I cared about was how great I felt when they hit.  And Burke, I rarely did hard drugs outside the scene.  Mainly pot.  But I did rave nearly every weekend.

and to overdose on amphetamines is pretty tough, like you gotta have ALOOOTTTTTT of amphetamines in your system to OD.


out here we've had people die from just 1 pill that had some PMA shit mixed into it. apparently PMA mixes really badly with certain other drugs and when taken together it literally kills people.


but yeah that must have been pretty scary experience though... my dad died from brain tumours.. so he was having seizures all the time. so yea i know what a seizure is like. we thought he was dying every time man it was pretty fucked. the good thing about seizures though is they aren't permanent and the person recovers with in a week. aneurisms and strokes are the dangerous ones


thats one of the things i hate the most about drugs is just the gamble. can't get onto the dealer or everyone hasn't got anything. or you dunno if its going to be good or not. and if you go out with shit pills or caps it ruins your night. and just all the shit that comes with drugs, having to deal with drug dealers and worrying about police. everything that comes with drugs is just a headache and problem after problem

I say don't eat random drugs indiscriminately and you should be okay.  Also I agree with Burke, you would have got hooked anyway you got access to strong drugs regardless of whether or not a party was going on. :lol:  Your posts reads like a joke.

i tend to frequent a lot of goa/psytrance festivals which i guess is as far away from mainstream electronic music as possible, thought id chime in.

i usually dont do more than have a few spliffs and beers
and usually am the driver to and from those events because i actually DO sleep at nights :wink:

its a bit weird at time but usually i get along great sober"ish",
im just a bit envious when im tired as fuck at say 4 am when the party really kicks off and
everybody on amps has no plans on going to sleep anytime soon haha.
