Ah, I remember when there used to be a proper rave scene back when I was in SoCal.  Here in Portland, I haven't found there to be much of a "rave" scene at all.  There's a festival/Burner scene, which includes things like psytrance and dubstep, but it doesn't feel very "ravey" at all.  It's less kandi and LEDs, and more leather and fire poi.  In some ways I prefer it that way, but there are times when I miss the old scene.  I've sometimes thought about making a trip out to EDC or something like that one of these days, but I'm in my thirties now, and I can't help but feel like I'd be the creepy old guy at the party.
