I've been raving for a long time but in my late 20s now I think I'm starting to get over it a bit. I was always the Spartan " shut up and shuffle " sort of rage raver. Not the PLUR vibes socialite type. I go to rage to the tunes not to meet people or any of that. I just like going ham and flowing with the music. The adrenaline and hyper focus concentration kind of state raving induces suits my personality type a lot

haha thats legit

im kiinda like that. im a rage out back kinda dude. i like having space out back so i can really fuckin womp around and get my flow on. in the middle of a crowd i just have too much rage. sometimes people will see me and move away and kinda give me my room lol but like its cuz i earned that shit. but typically i need to womp hard

i do like meeting people tho, its good for a lot of reasons. like at camp bisco a couple weeks ago i really couldnt walk from one stage to the other without bumping into a bunch of people i knew. it was a little annoying at times but like whatever. typically you meet way cooler people out back too

and yeah, fuck PLUR

Honestly I like PLUR and think it's a good thing. What's wrong with a bit of harmony. I don't see how anyone can hate on PLUR, not being a dick to people or starting shit, no one wants to deal with that

I guard my space like its a prison yard. Don't step on my patch nigga I need this room lol. People give me space too when I start going ham but like I'm a bit demanding cos I take up a lot of space. I can't properly enjoy myself and start flowing properly without a decent metre of space bare minimum. Optimal is having like a rectangle lengthwise space of a few metres where I can start shuffling back and forth cross ways and spinning with the riffs and jumping up and down into all the drops and shit. Cod the way I dance it feels shit to dance on the spot. I gotta move around and go side to side and all this shit. Which pisses people off cos they think I'm gonna run into them and it's prob a bit annoying

I'm generous with my space too though in that I'll let any other raver who's going to use the space use it. Like if someone else comes through I'll move out of the way for them or split my space with them.

But I fucking hate when someone walks in my path as im in the zone or about to hit a break. Like I do this blind turn thing when I reach the end of the space and turn back stomping blindly the other way. Which feels the sickest. And fucken, some cunt will walk through unlnowingly and c-c-c-c-combo breaker my shit and I'll have to stop and wait for the next drop again to start up.

The problem is I like to be up close enough to be right in the feels and close to the DJ, but obv tough to get space up front and I cbf with this pilgrimage to the front journey bs. Space is easier at the back which is good but I don't like being too far away and disconnected from the experience or even in a spot with bad sound too

I'm the real deal though mang

But yeah I'm pretty antisocial and keep to myself mostly. I cbf talking to people much and I got bad hearing and can never hear half the shit people say at fests or venues anyway. Plus I don't like having to deal with other people's shit or have to worry about other people like you have to when you're in a group. I need to be free to do whatever I want whenever I want and not have to do shit for the group. Even if I turn up in a group I ditch pretty quickly and walk off lol

well with PLUR its just stupid kandi raver shit. like imo its expected to treat other people with respect. it doesnt need to be spoken, its just called being a decent human being. people who rep PLUR are typically the assholes who dont get it either


and yeah i HATE when you have a nice spot around you to rage then some asshole comes up and acts like hes walking past you then stops like riiiiight in front or next to you. when that happens straight up i wont talk to you, i think your a fucking moron anyways. so i just wait for a big drop and go fucking ham and pretty much rage all over that dude. id say 95% of people get it and move right after im done womping all over them. like seriously, find a better spot asshole

I don't mind as long as they don't block a drop or get in my way while I'm in motion. Like in general there's an unspoken rule to give space to the ravers and go around them and not block them while they're in motion. Other then that I'll always let people through and share my space if I'm just standing around.

The thing is I go with the drops, so I might start out a buildup with mad space, but cod I'm just standing waiting for the drop people move in to fill up the space and then by the time the beat drops I've lost my space and shit. Like for me it's all about flowing and I'm not one of those derps who just ravers ontop of the music and you see like when the beat drops they continue on like it's still going and they're all off beat and you can tell they just have no clue. With me I rave ' in ' the music. That prob sounds like faggy raver shit to you but there's a big difference to raving over the music and IN the music, synchronised with the music. Like I buildup and switch into shit and progress with the song. Hard to explain. These days I'm a fat cunt anyway and don't shuffle whole songs cod I get tired, mostly just the peaks

I'll still talk to anyone who comes up or give them water, gum or cigarettes and shit but I close it off pretty quickly like alright have a good one bro sort of stuff. Polite way of telling them to fuck off and leave me alone lol

also you went to EDC in america. most people there arent really a part of the real scene, they just go to look popular and post pics on fb and instagram. they dont know how to dance, rage, do drugs, or really anything

Hahaha yeah I heard it was pretty cray and got banned. EDC has grown heaps though in vegas and it's almost too big now. Like logistically to get 150k people to and from the speedway each day is a nightmare. If I go again I might even just rent a car and get premium parking and just backroad it :shrug: that place is crazy though

I have respect for the rave scene and the PLUR only because it's what got me into live events like festivals. It also introduced me to drugs besides weed. I was 17 and went to this 300 person warehouse rave where i took (real) mdma and had a blast. 

Over time though i started leaning toward the "headier" side of music like jamtronica (griz, pretty lights, sts9) and trippy stuff like Tipper and Shpongle. I like the scene alot better than the mainstream EDM scene but the EDM scene was essentially my roots and i gotta give it some love.

I just hate when people generalize that ALL raver kids are shitty and just there for the drugs n stuff. I know alot of awesome folks who are into that scene, but yeah its 50/50 tbh.

At fests if someone like Dillon Francis or Zedd is playing ill check em out and get down with some PLUR kids for a bit if no one else i wanna see is on. You just gotta let yourself ignore the bullshit part of the scene  and have your own fun.

Best raves I went too were in 09 and 2010. maybe a couple in 2011.

The first rave I went too was right after I turned 18 in 2009. It was a completely random house in the downtown area. They had a massive ice sculpture of a naked chick in the living room, you could pour liquor into a hole and it would come out her vagina.

Also, there were several coolers of free beer. I had a couple.

DJ was in the basement, everyone was passing blunts.

Also made some new friends with some hippies who were chillin in the backyard.

That was my first rave, I guess it was more like a house party with a dubstep DJ in the basement, but it was still one of my best "Rave" experiences ever.

Nowadays I only go to a rave if there's gonna be a DJ I really really like, like infected mushroom or something. Infected mushroom always puts on an amazing live performance.
