No problem. The Russian BUK story has been gathering evidence but I've waited until a major news source reports it. Of course Russian apologists dismiss them as "lying media" and if you post a local news outlet's story its also "lying" etc.

"I am Aleksandr Kolomiyets, a major-general of the Ukrainian Armed Force, and my latest position was that of a chief military analyst and aide to the Ukrainian defense minister," Kolomiyets told at a press-conference in Donetsk. He added that he had been the regional military commissar of the Donetsk Region for the last 19 years.

Kolomiyets also told that he had to evacuate his family from Kiev for fear of persecution by the Ukrainian authorities.

Many of his former fellow servicemen, too, were ready and willing to join the republics, he said.

He declared his intention to work for the benefit of DPR and shared his opinion of the Ukrainian army’s condition. "The potential of the Ukrainian army is very low. Mostly, from the standpoint of morale. All generals and officers who are aware the authorities’ actions are criminal have no wish to fight the war".

Since Kiev launched the military operation in the southeast of the country hundreds of soldiers and officers had joined the forces of the Donetsk republic. "I keep no statistics, but during the operation hundreds of men and officers have taken the Donetsk Republic’s side and are defending it at the moment. I can say this with full certainty," Kolomiyets declared.

He is not the first senior official of Ukrainian military and law enforcement agencies who has defected to the militias. Earlier, the former chief of the Lugansk Customs, Oleg Chernousov and two officers of Ukraine’s foreign intelligence, and staff members of the Ukrainian embassy in Paris: the Miroshnichenko brothers (Aleksei and Yuri) returned to Lugansk to declare their disagreement with Kiev’s policies.

I dont know about "Nazi battalions". They sound like "Husseins WOD's". Russia is propagating a spin that Ukraine was taken over by Nazis. Maidan was supported by a huge amount of people who's voice wasn't being heard by the Russian appointed president.

Understand that Russia has been churning out anti-West propaganda for a 100 years. This means Russians mostly look at the West as evil and if you want western values its somehow a trap. Thats a century of conditioning and brainwashing by a totalitarian machine.

Russia is an empire that treats its neighbours like shit: either join us or be the enemy. Now, Ukrainians suffered purges and genocides like most of the countries under Commie rule. When Hitler rose up almost everyone in Europe saw him as a force powerful to kick communist ass. This is why a lot of people cheered Germany on. Do you realize how bad it was under commie rule that people hailed hitler as a possible saviour? When germany lost soviets retaliated and killed even more people. This means various nations remember what it was to be free from Russian rule and how Russia never got punished like germany.

Imagine if the States were invaded and almost pounded into the ground. You would probably see the rebel flag everywhere with american restistance fighters, plus all sort of American symbols and talk about americanism in general. When you feel your country is attacked most people fall back on their countries identity. Nationalism. Meaning patriotism rises to a new level because someone is threatening your country's existence.

Antisemtisim is a huge problem in Europe. But remember: Russia has always been the most antisemitic of them all. Soviets and Hitler worked together while hitler learned about the use of death camps from the communists. This is also why Russia has probably the worlds largest neonazi community and the love for hitler. Russia is xenophobic and homophobic to a huge degree. The only thing a lot of Russians dislike about hitler is how hitler turned on stalin. Stalingrad was a gang war. In the end Stalin got the turf.

For the ukrainians and all the ex-ussr countries the struggle continues because Russia is still a very totalitarian nation and threatens to invade those countries that have allied themselves with the west. Also, russia has no major achievements in its recent history except kicking nazi ass. Ww2 has become a "victory cult". If Kreml wants to whip up support for putin then it uses the nazi rhetoric. Lack of free media in russia makes this a widespread phenomenon.

Also its absurd Russia suspects jews plot against russia. I dont want to feel filthy from googling nazism in russia but if you have the time check it out.

Putin wants soft power over its neighbours and ukraine chose to move over to europe. like a jealous husband russia punished her.
