Basically Russia wants its Soviet game back. They are afraid of turning into a 3rd world country. But because of their totalitarian way of life they use military invasions and force against its smaller neighbours to achieve this. Because Russia is an empire it consists of conquered nations. When the Soviet Empire collapsed a lot of nations that were annexed quickly declared independence and sought to ally themselves with the West and democratic values in general. Now Russia is bolstering its military in an attempt to take back old territories and use Soviet nostalgia to amp up nationalistic pride in Russia. So thats where we're at right now.

All those photos are from the Pacific campaign. The one Russian had barely anything to do with. They should of at least used photos from the European front.

well if you look at history, the russian people are a mix of ethnic slavs, kievan "Rus (hence RUSsian)" Vikings, and golden horde mongols, so in a since the mongolian comeback is alive in russia.

i honestly wasn't aware of any of that when i made my post, so cool. i mean, it makes sense... when you look at the movement of people's around Russia, from our origin in Africa, it just makes sense. the Asiatic's, i find, have most in common with Native Indian culture, like we have over here, only over there it's got a different timeline in history. but it's very similar.
