According to the belief that you keep reincarnating in 3rd density until you have learned all your lessons here, would this mean that your last life would probably be an incarnation as a Buddhist monk or something along those lines.

Your last incarnation would have to end soon after it started to keep you from spreading any bad karma. You would have to die before you learned to speak, or something like that. Then you would leave this plane of existence untainted and ready for nirvana.J/K

You have been reading the wrong books. In your last incarnation you get tons of money, mega-babes, a mansion or two and lots of cool toys.
Guess I won't be seeing you guys on the next round.

Oh yes you will. You are the one who has got it wrong! You will be one of those babes that you are using to satisfy your primitive desires. It's an endless cycle, friend.

Here's my theory on reincarnation...it goes back to energies at their most basic level. As far as we know, energy cannot be destroyed. Our displaced energy must go SOMEWHERE when our bodies finally give out. I'm not trying to say that I was Marie Antoinette in my former life or anything like that. It just that this energy that I run on wasn't created from nothing the day I was conceived...was it? Maybe I'll be running a toaster oven after I'm dead.

The vast majority of those believing in reincarnation believe you can only return as a human.

Well the energy that you get when your born , at its basic level comes from your dad, then your mom and all the crap she eats. Food has energy and your mom has to eat it for her and YOU to survive. Basicly we die the body shuts down and returns to a part of the earth that a time later will conceive a tree. A tree that will feed another generation of organisms.

"Our displaced energy must go SOMEWHERE when our bodies finally give out."
Yes, what's left of it is scattered across the universe, never to be found again or assembled or injected into a new you.

if you assume energy cannot be created or destroyed, ....... my mind buckled, sorry. lets juast assume your energy wont be lost when you die, and your "spirit" has energy. One could be a part of everything before becoming a human again, now wouldn't that be a lesson in humbleness to remember all those lives? how could one harm anything after that? I couldn't kill an animal without giving thanx it gave up it's body to sustain mine... why do people think the "savage injuns" were so primitive? this line of reasoning seems to indicate they knew more than we.

That's not JUST an assumption. Why not just assume that Harry Potter does exist and we all meet him when we die? Why not just assume that we all become candles when we die? Why not just assume that we become the pubes of Frodo when we die? etc.
Is your assumption better than my assumptions? Why?

>> Your last incarnation would have to end soon after it started to keep you from spreading any bad karma. You would have to die before you learned to speak, or something like that. Then you would leave this plane of existence untainted and ready for nirvana.
From the Buddhist point of view, the memories of our past lives are a function of our waking minds, and are extinguished with the cessation of the waking mind. The subtle mind, however, carries all karmic imprints since beginningless time. A new-born infant cannot be thought of as a fresh slate, which if stillborn would become an enlightened being after having accomplished a cessation with absolutely pure karma. Infants are born crying because they are experiencing suffering, and they are experiencing suffering because their karma has made it so.
>> The vast majority of those believing in reincarnation believe you can only return as a human.
I'm not sure if any majority subscribes to this view. Buddhist and Hindu insights suggest otherwise. These two schools alone make up the bulk of reincarnation theorists. After all, if it were true that humans may only reborn as humans, then the population of humans must remain a constant, and could never fluctuatate. The human population has been rising and falling with steady incline for thousands of years.
>> lets juast assume your energy wont be lost when you die, and your "spirit" has energy. One could be a part of everything before becoming a human again, now wouldn't that be a lesson in humbleness to remember all those lives? how could one harm anything after that?
Again from the Buddhist point of view, upon the irreversable seperation of mind from body (death), is 49 days in bardo. It can be said that this is a merging into all space and time. We do not carry such an experience into the next life, nor do we carry the memories of the past lives observed therefore, because we carry karmic obstructions into the next incarnation which prevent us from maintaining such realizations.

I didn't mean "let's assume energy isn't lost when we die" for good, I just ment for the next turn i took. I was establishing a rule by which to base the next bit of discussion on. the rule can be reversed for a new disscussion. I just wanted to say: lets pretend for a bit, and base logic on this bit of pretend, just for the possible insight or thinking that could come of it. yeesh, im not saying we are gonna be pubes.

i agree with ped on the population rate, wouldn't it be constant? Or are new energies coming?
