This thread is supposed be a thread about philosophy, and that will mean also a looking deeper at the very terms we use.


Actually people have given reports of experiencing afterlife. The article is about a scientific study to see if there is any scientific to support the reports that consciousness can be experienced after clinical death. Obviously that is connected with other possible experiences someone may have.

For example, in some reports a person having an NDE will find themselves observing their body, and what others are doing around it, etc and then other strange things may happen like going through a tunnel, meeting relatives, and so on.

That article is very NOT unsubstantial, and pertains to the whole subject of NDEs, and what the OP is inquiring about, because it is with NDEs that we get reports from people that they experienced heavens, hells, etc.

This is only because culture does all basic work of survival for you so you can remain effectively and adolescent for the remainder of your life.  In the same way a domesticated canine will chase game but often not know what to do when it catches it.

I don't see what I am asking as 'wanting to argue semantics'...? it was a question. I ask that you were conscious when you were eg 4, and younger, and as a baby on the womb...? So?

Why do you ask a question and then get all defensive when people as you questions to do with what your asking? or do you expect answers according to your preexistent expectations. Was is a rhetorical question?
