This is all well and good, but we should focus on not destroying our planet before we can begin to colonize the terrestrial bodies in our own solar system.

Well let say we see little bit of radiation orbiting the planet and fail to have an explanation for it, we could assume that maybe its a satellite that could have only been built by a living creature. Perhaps we can see their cities lit up on the surface at night. There's lots of thing we could witness that are out of the ordinary. We have thousands of planets to compare what is normal and what isn't. So if their is something unusual, we can definitely spot it.


AFAIK we have not "seen" this planet only detected it by the effect it has on the star it orbits.

Of course. We can only see its shadow moving in front of its star.

But we have a new James Webb telescope coming in 2018. This planet will most likely be one of the first things it will look at. We'll have more details then.

Thats not counting all the future telescopes we'll be putting out there. in 50 years I bet we'll be able to see this planet pretty clearly.

They would have recorded that in 1514, Tenochtitlan (Mexico city) was the largest city on earth.

James Webb telescope, which will image exoplanet atmospheres, goes up later this decade...I'd say the chances are pretty good.

they would probably deny their existence even with an alien in front of them, just like bible freaks deny that evolution is real, which disprove "bible facts" , yet they deny even though fossils and scientific evidence is ever increasing in front of their eyes
