Imagine if ONE has life.  How awesome that would be!  I love to think that one day we'll be free of this lonely island, beautiful as it is, and be able to explore and communicate with a wide variety of life forms!!  Cool

Named after Johannes Kepler's laws of planetary motion

That is all. I knew that bit of knowledge I learned in astronomy earlier this semester would be useful someday.

Yeah The Drake Equation, I just learned about it last year actually. It's awesome. You're right, I should check out COSMOS, been meaning to, just haven't gotten around to it. You know how it is.

If the whole COSMOS series is any bit as awesome as this part right here I'm sure I'm in for a treat, you know?

I thought this was pretty fucking cool.

An illustration of the 1,235 potential alien planets discovered to date by NASA's Kepler mission.

* The black dots are planets next to accompanied star.
* Of the 1,235 planets only 54 are the proper distance for liquid water to be present.
* Standing alone for reference is Jupiter and the Sun.

that is pretty cool, but it doesnt mean there will be life on any of those planets.

some of those planets are huge though.

Thank you so much for posting that awesome Sagan autotune.  I gotta circulate that one to some friends.  So fun, especially featuring hawking!
