What is the most demanding aspect of reality that grabs your attention as an individual?

It is the thin nature of reality that grabs my thought these days. And yes, psychedelics played a very important role in the beginning of these thoughts.

What about you, Enter?

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Wow, well said.   I cannot easily improve upon that, so I will copy instead.

Psychadelics are a tool for expansion of consciousness, thus producing more imaginative visualizations which the essence of creation. This in turn lets us focus more on the spiritual aspects of life by opening our third eye and clearing energy. Thus perceiving the nature of God within and healing ourselves so as to procure profound revelations of self and the universe.

"What is the most demanding aspect of reality that grabs your attention as an individual?"

What arrests my attention, is the fact that this space..... is inhabited.

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Tall, slender blondes with really large breasts.

No, psychedelics weren't necessary for this aspect of reality to grab my attention.

Refamiliarizing myself with my wild nature, with the self I was when I was a child. Embracing the self that could crouch down to stare at weeds growing through the side walk and be completely amazed. I'm learning to be constantly aware that my nature is free, uninhibited and joyful just like plants animals and kids. I'm consumed by the process of shedding the conditioning of civilization and becoming primal again, even if I have to submit to some domestic tasks like working and buying groceries to survive. I think that if we can remember how to be free internally than that will soon begin to manifest externally, even more so the more of us do it.

What's grabbing my attention right now is wild nature (internal and external), passion, freedom and being honest with the most fundamental parts of my nature. Shedding false skin and removing masks.

I started this process before I ever tried psychedelics but they have played a significant role in the direction I've taken. I'm not sure where I'd be without them now, possibly a few steps behind but still getting there?

Sing a mumble-gumble song

Being in love with the game, that is what prehaps these things have brought me. I guess this could maybe make me a "dangerous" person to myself or others, because of my dissociation from the widely accepted reality, but it makes me feel free, and I will always be happy as a result, because I can do anything I want really...

Indeed. Everything in our mind is simply programming; we can shape ourselves any way we wish.
Peace.

Most people who believe in the things you listed probably never even touched a psychedelic.

Psychedelics are without a doubt what drew me toward Buddhism. It is not necessarily the framework of Buddhist philosophy that I find attractive, nor is it the contrast with Biblical westernism. My eyebrow was first raised when Buddha was quoted to me as saying shortly after his chronicled enlightenment: "There is a suchness to all things."

It is an enormous feeling of "such" which overcomes me in psychedelic ecstasy, when in love, and when looking over a mountain valley, with nothing in my company but the wind and the roar of the river below. It is music, I believe, which calls to attention the subtle parts of Self which are in tune with suchness, and it's the same which I think can be described by trendal's words "thin nature of reality."

At the heart of everything we perceive is something substantial but entirely incomprehensible. In certain states of particular illumination, it rings like a telephone, calls out to us and rocks our foundations. It is correctly perceived as a threat to the values of institutionalized culture, but more importantly it is correctly perceived as the open arms of realization, the formless form of God, of Shiva, of Tao, of whatever label has been applied to it by the revolutionaries who have set us and themselves tumbling in pursuit of It.

There is this unquenchable thirst which motivates us as individuals and as a species.
