Mega -You-Grow kit - not working - first time using-

Hi
I bought the 'mega you grow' kit from a canadian site. it advertises itself as foolproof. I have followed the instructions, have a digital thermometer, and two weeks after fruiting there is no pinning. the manual says pinning should start 'within two weeks'. I have followed the time lines in the instructions, boiled the substrate, microwaved the soil, all as per instructions, misted 1-3 times a day and nothing.
Has anyone else had a bad experience with this kit? Including shipping I paid almost 200.

I had the same luck with alcohol brewing kits :facepalm:
but tons of success with Mushroom Cultivating...WITHOUT kits!
It's always good to do research first!

How come you didn't just buy from the sponsors? Do you live
in the USA?

I cant post a pic because I don't have a smart phone/camera or the cord to connect my cellphone (which is really cheap and does take pics) to my computer. I'm unable to. but I can offer this description:

the substrate is straw, was pasteurized, then seeded with spawn (a jar of prepared mushroom spawn came with the kit) and left in the for 12 days at 26-28 degrees. it went above 28, ie 29, on a few occasions, and I adjusted the heat to bring it within the range. after 12 days casing soil mix (came with kit) was sterilized as per instructions then spread over substrate. a 'casing starter mix' was applied to the soil. this came with the kit. then it was put back in the dark at 26-28 degrees for 5 days, as per instructions. then it was exposed to light 12 hours a day (I have a lamp with a 20watt bulb I put a few feet from the box, shining down). it says that mycelium will grow up through the soil. I have noticed white spots appearing through the soil. it says that pinning can be expected within two weeks. it has been a bit over two weeks (15 days) and no pinning, some white spots visible through soil though. the temperature has been kept at 25-27 degrees, went up to 28 a couple times, was 24 a couple times.
I have followed the instructions, except for the temperature being a degree out of range on occasion.

Microwave ovens do not sterilize anything, and light is not a pinning trigger.....

Honestly, don't expect all these grow boxes to work. They're for the lazy, and those who don't put time, effort and love into their grows will not get good rewards.

I've bought one before and it was bunk.

Learn from this mistake and read up on any hobby before you throw money down the drain.

Here's what you need to start:

Youtube search PF tek. Watch all videos and follow them to a T

Buy a cubensis syringe from one of the sponsored vendors here
