Did the guy who was shot die? If not then i dont see the problem. I think for a cop to use a
weapon he must have the accuracy to shoot the hand, or leg of someone (non fatal shot) if
they are in danger. I see no point in shooting to kill in most scenarios though.

i'm not going to walk backwards unless i know exactly whats behind me.  considering i'm in an apartment i've never been in before, i won't be doing that.  if i trip and fall - my life could be over.

the hip?


yeah, too hard still.  because most 'hip' shots will end up being stomach or groin shots.  and then you'd be complaining about cops castrating people (cant shoot a woman in the uterus, right?)

the hip is a small fraction of the middle of your body.  its not that fucking easy man.  people move.  guns are hard to shoot accurately, especially in tense situations.

you'd figure if you were a cop, you'd have at least some speck of situational awareness, in order to be sure of your pursuit of a suspect or otherwise, be prepared "for the unexpected".

as you're going over the scene of this accident, a bit of memorization of what path you took into the home would be nice, considering you might need your ass to back the fuck up.

see? it's a lack of coordination that makes these idiot cops need a fuckin vacation.

you do know that cops TRAIN and practice marksmanship, right? also, a marksman police officer might be able to make the shot, but even a shitty shot cop could you know... take a second to acquisition your target and as he gets closer, aim lower and pop him up close... what? are you gonna inform me of the risks of a shot person suddenly lunging with adrenaline towards you, and the danger of being too close? oh yeah... BACK THE FUCK UP.

Are you serious?

You cannot block a giant knife like that without taking serious damage. One lunge from this guy at less than ten feet away is all it would take. The gun is useless if you let him get right up in your face before you pull the trigger. This officer let him closer than I would have been comfortable with.

well, if you watch it, you'll see the lady exit the home (clearly she wasn't in danger) and that the house has no exits (he asks her, she affirms) and that it's little a tiny single floor home... nowhere to go but BACK OUT THE FRONT.

how is it that this cop couldn't control the situation is beyond GOD HIMSELF, because it's a legit EASY situation to control...

this WAS NOT suicide by cop this was "cop rushing to finish his work because he had no patience."

that being said, he went in. 

why is nobody questioning why the guy didn't just NOT walk at the cop with two knives in his hands?  cops there doing his fucking job.  dude was fucked up enough to walk at a cop with two knives in his hand, and was on the road minutes earlier where he was lucky enough to crash into a lightpole - as opposed to a minivan full of kids.

cop could've done better.  but guy could've done way better.

Yeah the guy was in an obvious state of distress. He may have been high, but it is also possible that he was in shock and just got a concussion in that accident. It is that cops responsibility to handle crazy situations. He should have gotten a negotiator instead of walking in ready to kill.

the kid was dumb AND apparently confused adding to his dumbness. he was (that) upset over... an accident. that's sadly very dumb.
