looking for a poem about experiencing simple emotion

hi, my girlfriend needs a poem for class about simple emotion, perhaps in the perspective of an animal. she's trying to show that animals feel too. it's kinda hard to find online, and i don't think she's supposed to write her own, although we tried, and it just doesn't come out right.

Perhaps look into the haiku of Basho. He wrote much about nature in a simplistic, concise manner.

heh, thanks for the links, and i really appreciated strumpling's haiku. mighty impressive. unfortunately, my girlfriend would prolly kill me if i offered it to her. whatever, it'll be worth it ;-)
