looking for a poem about experiencing simple emotion
    #1925596 -

hi, my girlfriend needs a poem for class about simple emotion, perhaps in the perspective of an animal. she's trying to show that animals feel too. it's kinda hard to find online, and i don't think she's supposed to write her own, although we tried, and it just doesn't come out right.

thank you very much :-)

Perhaps look into the haiku of Basho. He wrote much about nature in a simplistic, concise manner.

Hope this helps

Man this sucks: I'm scared!
That large beast just might EAT ME!
I'd better bail out

A childhood fave. Its not from an animal's perspective, but its got one in it...

Alligator Pie
by Denis Lee

Alligator pie, alligator pie,
If I don't get some I think I'm gonna die.
Give away the green grass, give away the sky,
But don't give away my alligator pie.

Alligator stew, alligator stew,
If I don't get some I don't know what I'll do.
Give away my furry hat, give away my shoe,
But don't give away my alligator stew.

Alligator soup, alligator soup,
If I don't get some I think I'm gonna droop.
Give away my hockey stick, give away my hoop,
But don't give away my alligator soup.

*edit*

And another, more recent one I quite like, also by Lee

'A Plan For Preserving Birdsong'

Is it true that tiny lawyers
Hatch in puddles in the spring?
I plan to capture orioles
And teach them how to sing;
But if they can't, the lawyers,
Dressed in tiny feathered suits,
Could congregate in sheltered spots
And play on tiny flutes.

--------------------
Remember, it's only true if it makes you laugh...

Fleeing a large beast
This predator looks quite mean!
I hope to escape

Oh no! he's got me!
My odds don't look very good
AARRGH! I'm now his prey

^^ Gauranteed A+ ^^ lol
