i think proper motivated intelligence is the key to knowledge. human intelligence is the source of our problems, but it would be foolish to think the solution is to reduce intelligence. there is only one way out, we must not let our intelligence to be guided by negative and harmful emotions. it must be guided only by proper and positive motivation if its to be constructive. when we have positive intelligence we can have the ability to apply our knowledge for the good....im not sure if i make sense to everyone....sorry for rambling

make use of what you learn, apply it, share it, even if its the knowledge that you shouldn't do something.
a person is drowning, you learnt lifesaving in h.school, but don't help.
you discover a cure for for some disease but don't tell anybody.
you know drunk-driving is dangerous for you and others but you still do it.
a company sells a product they know is harmful to consumers but choose not to inform their customers for fear of losing sales.

kinda lame examples but i guess they are in the right direction.
i don't mind if u set me up, when i'm found to be wrong i get to learn something new.

Wisdom isn't neccesarily a product of time. Wisdom is more often than not a product of good reasoning and compassion.

i think i see your point, reason is very big part of the process.
i guess our views on wisdom differ.
may i offer some analogies to help clarify my position -
think about learning to swim - you can read books, talk to some olympic swimmers, watch some fish or see it on tv, you can get a lot of knowledge on the subject.
but can u swim? - no
you have to get in the water and do it. you have to get in the water many times before you are a good swimmer.
same for learning to drive, read all the books u like, sit in the passenger seat for 10 years and watch the driver's actions. u can get heaps of knowledge, but can u actually drive a car? no. you have to get behind the wheel and do it.
again, maybe you have never drunk coffee, all the books and explanations in the world can attempt to describe its taste, but you will never really understand until you drink it yourself.
this is what i mean by experience.

True, one can never fully know the nuances of a particular situation until they are in it themselves. I suppose all we can really do is prepare our selves for a situation with what seems like the best kind of wisdom at the time, but we won't be able to completely validate that wisdom until its put to the test. Not quite? It makes sense to me.. We all pretty much have an infinite amount of experiences. If a lot of those experiences reside in one specific area, you could say that you have a lot of experience in that field..

If you have had a lot of sex, you could say that you have a lot of experience with sex. If you have spent a lot of time improving your knowledge in computer code, and have done a lot of work with computer code, you could say that you have a lot of experience in computer programming.

Am I wrong?

I hadn't seen your post on swimming and etc. before I posted, and I am still missing your question...

I am not disagreeing with you. It is all about actually doing something instead of just learning about doing it, or whatever, although it certainly helps. I liken it to this: Imagining the way something will be is great, but actually experiencing the way it is is a lot fucking better.

I was just missing what it was you were saying; I thought you were saying that there is a difference than an experience and having experience in a certain area.

And, I believe that gaining and pondering knowledge IS an experience, everything is, but it is definitely a different experience than actually applying it or actually performing whatever it is you learned about.. I think that both could be combined into one more fully understood and appreciated experience, too.

Knowledge is great, Experiencing a situation is great, rolling them alltogether is even better.. (hehe, don't even know if that makes sense, but then, I require sslleeeeepppppp)
