An 'authentic' plumber does not charge money.
    #18552596 -

Or does he?

Such is the lame argument for various psychics/gurus/healers - that if they are 'authentic' they should not charge money.

Now, I have yet to encounter an authentic spiritualist or mystic, but where does the idea that they would not charge for their time come about?

If they are authentic, you have to pay in chickens.

I wish KFC would offer deep-fried chicken beaks for that crunch we all love so well.

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

Ok, 1st of all, this is a horrible analogy, as a plumber's aspirations are revolving towards money, whereas a spiritual teacher should readily see the fault in fulfillments of wanting, greed and desire.

Maybe they are all around you but you choose not to see them.

For instance the Bodhisattva Vow is the vow taken by Mahayana Buddhists to attain complete enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, so if money would impede this transformation then it shouldn't be considered.

Your post was obviously in ignorance and I hope this enlightens you.

Talking to someone about deeper topics doesn't cost a thing, so why charge for it? You do it all the time for free . . .

Big Deal right?

Right, or take donations.  Each man, guru or otherwise should prove themselves by earning a living without leaching off of others.
