Updating the What's Found Where List...
    #1769005 - 08/01/03 11:08 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

OK, everybody, I made the updates that were posted in the previous thread.

Please look the document over and see if I missed anything or messed something up.

We didn't hear from any of the Australians in the last thread. It would be nice to add them to the list.

Additional changes I made:
Fixed the alphabetic reference at the top to only point to letters that actually exist below.
Added New Zealand to the links at the top.
Deleted Maryland and Missouri (they only had Panaeolus subbalteatus).
Added commentary at the top about Panaeolus subbalteatus and Psilocybe caerulescens.

If you find any mistakes or have any additions or updates, add 'em to this thread and I'll make the updates after the thread stops being updated (like last time).

Happy mushrooming!

Looks good TM.
In the fourth paragraph, did you mean "caerulescens", instead of "caerulipes"?
Now all we have to do is get up a Shroomery sponsored team of mushroom hunters, and go to each state, and verify each species as being there...........hehehe.........that, of course, will require a lot of mushroom bioassays .

OK, the typo is fixed (caerulescens instead of caerulipes - ooops!).

I also fixed the typo under California.

I also lied about when the updates would happen. They're happening on an ongoing basis.

motaman, I'd love to add any Gymnopilus species anybody would care to list. I know I've seen several threads (about a month or two ago) when Florida seemed like it should be named the Gymnopilus State.

Happy mushrooming!

I should have added these last time.
Copelandia cyanescens, Psilocybe australiana, Psilocybe eucalypta, Psilocybe makarorae, Psilocybe semilanceata, Psilocybe tasmaniana.
(These are from MJ's list of species of magic mushrooms in Australia/NZ)
If any NZers can verify some of these, it would help.

All updates made.

I also sorted the links for non-US alphabetically. The sections below remain in the order they were orginally added.

Abracadabra, if you read the section at the top, it mentions that Panaeolus subbalteatus is found in pretty much every state. Rather than waste space and effort putting it in every list, it should be assumed to be in every state (and pretty much every Canadian province).

Happy mushrooming!

I found Panaeolus campanulatus in Alaska. I believe they are concidered to be hallucinogenic. If I'm wrong sorry but I did find them and made a positve identification on them.
