Looking to start saving up for a diesel pusher motorhome..anyone here own or have owned a big ass RV

ive owned many motorhomes in the past.  always fairly small.  like long vans converted.  and had something along the lines of a box truck style motorhome once.  they were all mid to late 70's models.  very styish.  i lost em in my travels, to getting towed due to not being able to keep up with payments for insurance and such.  i was young and foolish.  im considering starting to put away for a diesel pusher motorhome.  it sounds a little crazy, as they can be alot of money, but i have seen some older models with low miles selling in the high teens to mid to high 20 grands.  i could figure out that much money in savings in a couple years possibly.  i just love the idea of living out of a vehicle that i can really do it up in, and move to wherever i want whenever i want.  diesel pushers are known to go up to the 500,000 mile mark before needing any serious maintenance.  and well maintained, the engines can go past 1,000,000 miles.  i could always figure out buying land, or renting to have places to keep it when staying stationary at certain times, or even just stayin at friends places in driveway or on their land.  it would be awesome if i could maybe figure out converting it to be able to run on veggie and throwing another tank for veggie oil.  anyway, its a pipe dream for now, but im thinking about it.  its always been a dream of mine, and id like to make it a reality in time.  anyone else rock a motorhome ever?  im also considering just getting a bus and just converting it myself.

I've heard that retired full sized school buses can sometimes be had for ultra cheap, like under a grand. One downside is the ceiling height though.
