indie music for tripping

It seems like a good amount of trippers tend to be into jam bands like phish, grateful dead, sts9, etc. I have nothing against jam bands and do see the trip appeal to them but I personally have always been more into independent music. I'm intrested to see if there are any good indie bands for tripping that I'm missing or that anyone else should discover.
I'll start by saying animal collective is probably my favorite band to trip to.

Independent music?
I guess Phis and other bands aren't independent?
Animal Collective is quite amazing You'd also dig the Skygreen Leopards and how about Elf Power? maybe Sir Richard Bishop?
possibly some of the Sun City Girls?
never heard of grizzly bear before, but i believe Panda Bear is with some/one of the peoples from Animal Collective

Some Blonde Redhead songs are pretty good. I'd probably dig on Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground, but it's been a while since I've tripped, and it hasn't been that long since I discovered them.

Grizzly Bear is amazing. I remember when I was tripping off 2 hits (my 2nd trip which I ended up aborting with xanax cause it was too intense) Grizzly Bear really brought on some amazing visuals. I'm seeing them open up for Radiohead in August. I'm considering taking acid at that concert but it might be too overwhelming.
I think Thom York's solo album works really well and Boards Of Canada. There's something cool about electronic based music when you're in a trip.

I listen to a lot of "indie" music along with a lot of other music...I don't know, I like tripping to almost all the music in my collection at some point or another.

yeah 45:33, or whatever it is called, the Nike workout record, is phenomenal on LSD.

ENTHEOGENIC SOUND EXPLORERS ARE PERFECT FOR TRIPPING
THEY MADE 4 GREAT PSYCHEDELIC ALBUMS for DATABLOEM rec (and on iTunes)
THE CD IN WAVE FORMAT ARE BETTER FOR A SERIOUS TRIP
CHECK THEM OUT:

THE NEW ALBUM IS GREAT (here is the review):
Entheogenic Sound Explorers fourth and most consistent album so far, offering an hours worth of adventurous dubby, hypnotic ambient. With "Quarto" Stefano Contini & Piero Marchesi have made another step in pushing their composing and production skills to a higher level. The albums seems to tell a story, travelling through psychedelic landscapes with a sense of hope and being. Put on repeat and you will discover new paths with each listen.
