BUSTED

Props on this new forum. it should help people stay safe and secure here. with that being said.
Has anyone ever been busted for growing Psilocibe mushrooms in the U.S.? I would like to hear about if you have, what you were charged with and what you got busted with.
I have searched for a while now, trying to find information of this matter on the shroomery and abroad, but to no avail.
any input is apreciated!

The laws are harsh, but one thing to remember is that unlike, say, a weed growing situation, which takes up alot more space and emits heat and odor, if not controlled somehow, mushroom cultivation is so tiny by comparison and emits no information beyond the domain within which it's done, so the main thing is to keep it under your hat, just do it for personal consumption, and you're in great shape.

there are only 2 people who know of my situation and they are very close friends of mine and i have explained to them what would happen to me if i got busted for it.

geokills, who are you referring to? To ahel or TheHobbit? If not? I'm in Oz, not the US and my laws are a helluva lot more relaxed...I'm not the dog in the link I posted ^above from mycotopia. That SOB is a good example of how the US WOD turns people into round worms. More the reason to not let a soul know about your grow.

ahel, you really shouldn't let anyone know esp. if you're in the US...but up to you.

I was referring to ahel, yes. For you see, he never specifically stated what his situation was, and if he is as carefully worded in his future and past posts as he has been in his post here, he will have nothing incriminating to worry about.

The politically popular stigma tacked on to drugs in my country is unfortunate, but thankfully my state is relaxing their local laws, slowly but surely.

Good to hear you've got relaxed local laws coming geokills. Over 2 million locked up and so many from petty non-violent drugs charges. As for incrimination, good points. Though from an Oz point of view it's reals and not the net that's the danger. Though in the US it appears the LEO is online hunting. http://www.crimcase.com/news/issue3no39.html

Hey starter what do you mean the LEO is hunting online, do you mean like chat rooms, and differnt of messengers? Ok I just read your link so nevermind, good info though.

Panther, LEO would also look over this board too as I know they do at Overgrow.com. There was even one cop there by the handle name of "LEOinGoodStanding" (whatever that was suppossed to mean?).

In fact, they'd lurk over all the counter-culture sites for a number of reasons, namely self-education on what stoners/shroomers do. Yep, so they can bust them more effectively in reals.

More insidious, there's the odd ball personality types in any population, yes they exist too in the LEO scene. Meaning, there would be vigilante-come-Rambo like cops who hunt as a hobby, as evidenced by the link I posted that speaks of that fuckwit 'Louisiana narcotics Detective Luke Erickson' doing *cough* his part to better US society. Bawwaaaahhhhhaaaaaa.

Now if you take a wander to Overgrow.com to their security forum there's a former police officer (by the handle name of "excop") who has said...

1.) he's retired
2.) he's lurked Overgrow for 18 months before he registered.

So that's basically saying when he was a cop he was lurking and more to the matter, he has also said he know cops who lurk the boards -- his former associates perhaps. Not that he's saying anything new. Only a fool would think they don't.

But they're probably more active in chat rooms where getting IP's would allow them a chance to zero in on their target. Forums (generally) don't give such an edge as per i.e. the privacy policy of the shroomery. All the same, don't ever get social engineered. That's their main play card. I mean look at that link, the cop pretends to be a party going lawyer and people fall for his cop-busting-arse lies.

I've been busted with $10,500 trying to buy 5lbs of weed and 2lbs of shrooms. I was with 2 other guys, one had 1oz of coke, the other had a gun under his seat. The seller was setting us up, working off time. They booked me for 8lbs, the fuckers, but from what I learned, it doesn't matter if it's 5lbs or 9.999lbs. As long as its under 10lbs, its not trafficking, and all treated the same.

I had $5k bail.

Lawyer cost $8,500. He's one of the best in the country. He was in some lawyer magazine as being in the top 100 or something.

I got a deferred prosecution, meaning I do my probation, and the charges are dropped. Not on my record.

He talked it down to 6 months probation, I took a drug survey thing, they determined I didnt need drug counseling, and I didn't get any comm. service. No piss test. I basically just walk in my officer's room, say hey, and walk out.

Charges have been dropped and I gotta pay for an expungement.

My laywer grew up with the DA, and the DA graduated from the college I attend now. He used that card with the DA to get me such a good deal.

My lawyer had told me that the feds might come through and pick up my case b/c that guy had a gun. That would mean mandatory 5 years plus the drug charges, no getting out of it. That scared the fuck out of me. Good thing they didn't.

That guy ended up getting probation and pleaded the gun charge down to a misdemeanor, and pleaded the felonies. The other guy w/ the coke got 18 months probation with drug tests, pleaded to the felonies.

Oh, and the first thing the cops told me was, if I helped them out, they'd make sure I got through this as easily and quickly as possible. They didn't need anybody big, just someone with only a quarter ounce of weed, and they'll work from there. Basically trying to go up the chain by turning them into rats. They started talkin trash about the other two, as if I was going to rat on them for other shit. I kept my trap shut, since I knew he was saying the same thing to them about me.

too many ppl know what I do...which is why I"m planning on shutting down shop very soon...even tho I'm in Canada and they supposedly don't go after shrooms here....I just can't risk the chance of getting caught and possibly going to jail
