i think the general consensus here is that feds wouldn't waste resources on a small scale grow.
your best bet is to read the FAQ everyone should read twice and to keep your mouth shut...
of course, i neither condone nor participate in any illegal activities such as those mentioned here so who am i to say?

Spores are legal, because when you order them you agree you are using them for microscopy purposes. And that is what you're using them for, right? Just keep your mouth shut and keep the grow stealth and you will be OK. Loose lips sink ships.

Yahh, posting on the boards has been harmless in my experience, for over 7 years. Its the friends who tell friends and people who know who you are and what your doing.
Spores are legal, purchasing them alone is not enough for a search warrant.
Informants word of mouth however, is...

I agree, it's been harmless for me too. Several years on the boards, OverGrow mainly, newbie here, BUT... everything I've read and learned here seems to be working quite fine. Spores vs informer was a good point. Wish there was a way to give Karma points.

Well I would think if one bought marijuana seeds, or purchased seeds on their credit card, which thousands do in any give month, you would see bust for that sort of thing.
That information is readily available to LE, your credit purchases and what not. So, I doubt a percentage of the population is going to get busted on these credit card purchases.
Attract attention, then sure, it it will be evidence against you. Purchasing spores, a hepa filter, agar, plates, jars, substrate, etc all in one nice readable line, yah, that would constitue reasonable suspicion.
Spores? Whose to say they arent a gift, or a serious collector, etc? They are not illegal, so getting a search warrant based soley on that purchase, would be uncostitutional and void of being used against you.
Just happened the other day, 2 seperate supreme court cases on searching trash,
considered unconstitutional and the evidence was useless, hence the search warrant was illegal, and anything they found.
So, spores being enough to gain a search warrant? What about spore suppliers? Do you really think every spore vendor has the money to have a grow shop in jamaica? Think again.

Well, Sporeworks says on their website that if you order with a money order as soon as they get it with the order sheet they take your address, print out a label for shipping, then destroy the order sheet. I'm sure other vendors have policies like this too, so as soon as they send out your order, and if you didn't use your name on the MO, they dont even know if you ordered from them.

I read a news report, (i really read it, I don't know where though) that law enforcement intercepted a package from a spore vendor to a customer, grew the spores, fruited them, and tested the shrooms for psilocybin. Of course it turned up positive, so the vendor was arrested for conspiracy to cultivate because the spores were VIABLE...
like I said, I'm not sure where I heard it, but I didn't just hear it from a friend...

Im pretty sure you are referring to the PF bust that went down quite some time ago... The undercover agents did not intercept any spores they actually just bought them straight up. The reason PF got into trouble is because they were selling the spores along with detailed instructions on HOW TO CULTIVATE them, they were not selling them for microscopic use as you will notice most of the major spore suppliers today claim.
Here is the link...PSYLOCYBE FANATICUS OWNER AND EMPLOYEES INDICTED
But then again you may be talking about another bust altogether...

You think that really means anything in the United States?
Seriously people, you need to all wake the fuck up. You think because something is legal that you are Okay? Play with fire and YOU WILL GET BURNED.
Just look at the Research Chemical companies. They were doing business by the book. All disclaimers were there, all laws were being obeyed, they were packing MSDS's with chems, etc etc. They also had big bucks for lawyers, but they were playing with fire. They got burned.
Just because something is "legal" now, or in the grey shady area does not mean that it is OK. I would be paranoid as possible, expect them to have all records, expect an emergeny scheduling, and expect your door to get kicked down. Anything less is a good day.
I dont agree with this war, but i just want you all to be safe. Dont be the prankster kid dressed in iraqi clothing, sitting in front of the whitehouse with a suitcase full of tomatoes. You think its a joke, and you have the legal system on your side till you end up shot, because they kicked your door down right as you were reaching for the remote control under your seat cushon to turn cheech and chong on, and they thought it was a gun.
Bang Bang!
Be safe.
Loose lips sink ships.
If you cannot trust yourself with a secret that determines the rest of your life, you can trust NO ONE.
Telling just one person you trust, is as good as telling the whole world. If you cannot keep a secret, dont expect them to. Its always "i can trust him."
Then you're in jail wondering wtf happend. I wasnt a violent person, I didnt hurt anyone, didnt endanger anyone, why me?
Cause you felt the need to brag. Thats why.
stay safe.
