Ok I know that the "standard" mushroom jar is a short 1\2pint wide mouth

but I have dont the BRF thing and was going to move into, what I understand to be the "big leagues" , birdseed, and casings

But I have seen websites where people are using TALL 1\2 pints for birdseed, should I do this??, or should I use SHORTY 1\2pints

Cause I have 12 of both, back in the BRF days I was bothered that I had got some talls when what I needed was shorts, I want about 30 jars

So before I buy more what kind of jars can I(should I) buy?

and I have heard of crazy mother fuckers somethimes using huge jars and making these large jars of birdseed into a casing....whats up with this?

use pint jars or larger for grains. i use litre jars, cos the jars i use used to have a kilo of olives in them.

I know people use up to 3 quart jars for sure... and bags that are at least that size. I would say a minumum jar for grain is quart, though.

Same here. Go with quart jars for grain. Pint jars at the very least.

well how many cc's of spore solution per quart jar

I wanted to do 20 1\2pint jars with 20 cc's ,so since 1 pint is half a quart , should I times by 4?
4 cc's per quart jar


OR

since birdseed is so great like people say , can I get away with using 1 or 1.5 cc per quart jar, since birdseed colenizes faster etc, than brf

4cc's is maybe even too much for a quart jar, the reason is you shake after innoculation and it spreads out really well. If I were you, I would look up a liquid mycelium tek (like honey tek). The jars will colonize in about a week instead of two-ish.

I think I will use about 1 to 2 cc's per quart jar
, and I would use honey, in fact I love honey(eating it , and the fact it contains EVERYTHING!) but my heart is SET on birdseed

Just because I can and because I had the popcorn already soaked and I haven't any more quart jars at the moment, I've PCed 15 1/2 pint jars of popcorn.

I think that they should colonize super quik and therefore go into the spawning stage much sooner. I'll post how it turns out.

P.S. That is roughly a half gallon of spawn including the one pint jars I did at the same time.
