Yea not a huge fan myself. But I LOVE chanterelles. The aroma itself is a wonderful thing. They just get really leathery if you try to fry them.

Lobster mushrooms suck, are lobster mushrooms any good? Hell no!

Lobster mushrooms are said to taste like seafood. The truth is, it has very little if any taste. (it does not taste like seafood at all)
The reason they are called lobster mushrooms is because of they're color and they can also resemble a lobsters claw.

It's a huge conspiracy, this mushrooms name just toys with people, go do some google searches and see what comes up about what sheep say about this shroom. Cooking aside, anything edible can taste good if prepared right, duh!

As a picker, these mushrooms are plentiful when your on the right turf, a few garbage bags full is not uncommon, probably one of the reasons they try to "push" these on unsuspecting buyers with such delusional claims.

Heck, even if you cooked lobster mushrooms with seafood they wouldn't taste like seafood, you would need a 10 hour marinade because of they're density!

Ya, Chanterelles are just fun to pick, it's like an easter egg hunt searching for gold. Very simple cleaning too. Even though they don't give off a mushroom flavor they're still good texture wise. Chants kinda give me a vegetable texture with the cliche apricot smaell/taste.

(glad to hear another person come forward disputing lobster mushrooms)

Thats right sheeple, stop sheeping over to the side of lobster mushrooms tasting like lobster and sheep over with my sheep saying that they taste horrible.  Sheep you have gone wrong before but as long as you stick with me nothing bad will ever happen.  BAaaAAaa
