The problem with viruses is that it is intracellular. Bacterial infections are much easier to treat because they are not. Antibiotics were the start of the modern medical world. It was the first time we could ever fight back against microbes. Viruses are different. We have advanced very slowly in the field. The problem is that when you try to kill a virus, you end up also killing your own cells. We now have prevention but we have no "cure" or we could just eliminate it from the planet. Overall HIV elimination is very positive. I shall repeat myself in saying that most likely within 20-30(maybe sooner) we will witness a serious virus cure when it comes to HIV and many others. This will be a  great discovery of mass importance when it comes to human advancement.

is HIV a retrovirus? i've heard of vibropathic medicines being used to fix retroviruses.

i'm sure hiv can be cured. i'm sure people have been cured of it, it's just probably something that isn't widely spoken of or believed. this is just my hunch. i wouldn't be surprised if the medical community doesn't understand what hiv really is since they don't really understand the body very well. i've heard things like that the drugs they give you for hiv or aids really just make people get sicker and destroy their immune systems further. this is all just my personal speculation/suspicion obviously :shrug:

HIV drugs do weaken the immune system, because HIV causes the immune system to attack itself

I have not heard of any cures, but I have heard of people that are able to take supplements and eat healthfully and don't need to take the expensive drugs. It's a rare happening, but supposedly some people can get along with this method.
