The only notable intellectual (maybe not so much anymore) that supported the 2012 craziness predicted that there would be much more novelty than there currently is. Or maybe I don't get hit with the novelty wave as hard in my Midwest suburban basement...

Regardless of singular dates marked for the anticipation of some sort of global change and ever increasing novelty occurring events, I think we are already riding on the tide of a global conscious shifting in a world of ever increasing changes, which could go unsaid in an always evolving cosmos, and although I do feel like the tide is gaining momentum, I don't think that it is going to crash into any sort of shore anytime soon.

I'm hopeful for what the future has to offer.

Y2K bug syndrome all over again. Though, I am betting that Alpha Centauri went supernova a few million years ago and the burst of light from that supernova, along with a massive wave of gamma radiation, is about to inundate our planet, strip away it's atmosphere and penetrate 50 miles into the earth, sterilizing all life. Just a hunch.

The doomsdayers will just have to pick another arbitrary date to obsess over.

Hopefully they shut the fuck up for a few months at least. Since 1999, its like once a year some asshole is predicting the end of the world. Even my boss at work who is a born again Christian is doing it... All the Biblical signs are there, blah blah blah.

The world will keep turning, plants and animals will keep doing their thing, life will move on.

Saw a show the other day where some guy out in the middle of the Arizona desert claims that on Dec. 21st (or whatever the date is), a portal will open at the top of a mountain he is camped on and if he jumps through it right when it opens, he will save all creation from being destroyed. The sad part is he has a following. Though he claims no one else is required to jump through the portal and he never wanted followers.
