Psilocybe Villarrealiae
special thanks to captn' future

Substrate: Straw/hpoo/verm/conifer shavings cased with Peat moss jiffy mix. inoculated with LC.

this colonized quite quickly (20 days or so). once colonized it was cased and put into fruiting conditions.

10 days in fruiting conditions and knots started forming

unfortunatly i had to move away from my work, but now in the hands of my friend we are getting fruit. here is the first pin more pics to come!

They just look nothing like weilii! Not the same color, shape, etc etc.. I would like to see 7th gen indoor weilii vs any "caerulescens"

Congrats though. I should be getting started here soon. Btw you want some sporezzzzz

Ehh, probably when I print some cubes. I only have one good print and two partials from this season. I just picked one way out in the woods where some people went through with a bush hog to widen the path to their (my) pond. That seems the nature of the weilii in my area the past couple years, just one or two finds every hunt.

Besides, I have my reasons for wanting to give you spores. One being you are currently working with the species (apparently THE species, caerulescens, rather than what we prefer to call our beloved blueing caramel caps) and another my own curiosity of what you are capable of- how many generations you will put them through, etc. no pressure though. I'll have it out sooner than later

i just sterilized my sub today, about to knock it up with some grains tonight. :thumbup:

this is my first time growing this kind of mushroom . i think these would be considered secondary decomposers?
substrate: 3 year old fir /hardwood chips/shaving/dust , dried japanese maple leaves , horsepoo , and straw.

i think your substrate sounds good. if you manage to keep your water content right you will get fruit from that block.

i have a feeling the this species is relativity forgiving considering its being fruited on everything from hardwood to dung and straw and most attempts ive seen pulling off at least one or two good fruit.

im trying to coach my friend (who has the bag now) to lighten up on the misting and fann way more hes keeping the casing layer soaked which i feel is making it hard for pins to form.

IDK about the cap, doesn't look all slimey to me. someone might tell you exactly whats up in the contamination forum.. it might not be contamination at all though
it could be a genetic "disease" or something and they would be able to identify that as well
