Shin splints, or something else?

Well, I posted not too long ago about how every time I run, I get a pain (but really, it is only when something touches it, like its bruised?) its from the bottom of my knee, down to the tip of my shin, just like shin splints. BUT.

I do remember, when I was in a treatment facility and started going all the exercise, I would run a straight mile on the treadmill, and then it would start hurting a little later, but only when something rubs against it.

It is both of my legs by the way, but like I said after I got this I would then run another mile, or more, every day of the week almost, and it never gets worse, it never gets better either though.

Any input? Should I see a doctor before I run?
I enjoy running, especially with my dog, it pushes me and I feel great afterwards, but this is scaring me a little.
