Plenty of time yes, but 15-20 years?


With grafting you can triple what you have now in no time.

Yes, i first read about grafting about 10 years ago in high times, but it never realy appealed to me.
Sorta like those horrid coloured graft petrol station cacti :-( or cacti with
dryed flowers stuck in them.
I love the plant for what it is and am unlikley to eat them again, unless i visit mexico
as its still debaterbal wether they produce suficent chemicals in this country(zone 8) to be worth eating anyway.

i agree, but then why not let them sleep during the winter? i'm not a big fan of the 24/7, i think it's not natural and in the long term renders the them more susceptible to pests, etc i did it this winter and am not particularly happy with it. i plan to let them go to sleep next year :laugh:

Like i said earlyer, they have regained there Blue :-) in the sunlight
which they lost under 24/7 were they looked a sorta fat sickly
over watered dark green :-( not a nice colour in cacti hu?

Big moma is never going back to 24/7 but i think some of the resprouts will.

Still i have a heated greenhouse in the building :-) so............

I would agree to at least give them 4 hours of dark...If they are in photosynth  phase  constantly there are not other functions  that naturally are carried out in the dark...But hell peyote grows so fast its worth the risk of making them unhealthy :wink:

No special care, just cut the button of at soil level, allow the wound to dry up, then go back to watering as normal.
Someone suggested it was a differing variety that gives so many pups.

Mine were under hids over winter, but i dont know how that will affect the chemical make up.
