Peyote problem...continued
    #3552340 - 12/28/04 01:41 PM (13 years, 21 days ago)

Well, the stretch/growth marks have not increased since I last posted about them in this forum. Now it seems as if there might be another problem. My oldest peyote seems to have a little hole in the outer part of his skin. when I measured it, the hole is about 1/10 cm by 1/10cm so it's pretty small. There isn't any sign of infection or rot. It really just seems like it got nicked with something sharp. I was thinking maybe my cat's nail did it, but I'm doubting that.

Is there anything I should do to prevent any bacteria from getting in there, or will the plant be fine? It's been 3 days since I first saw it (could have been there longer), and nothing has changed.

Again, sorry I don't have any pictures.

Thank you.

Edit: Had a little problem with the spelling of a couple words

I'd probably not touch or fondle with it too much unless it starts to look bad. Maybe you could swab it quick with some alcohol around the puncture and see what happens. Sometimes trying to fix something causes more problems than waiting to see how it fares at least initially.

Some times they grow fast and the skin tears.. mostly in grafting situations though.. its probley fine.. Try and keep animals away from your valuable plants..

Yeah I'm just going to leave it alone. I might give it some water since it's been about a month since I last watered them. I first have to fix the lighting accommodations though.
