peyote
    #2173846 - 12/13/03 12:52 AM (13 years, 18 hours ago)

Okay, so i want to grow peyote, not only because of it's... spiritual power, but because of it's rarity, beauty, and overall biological qualities. does anyone here have any seeds ? I hear they're legal to possess and distribute, and i've seen them for sale, but i'd like if anyone were willing to mail some to me, to recieve them in that way (I'm assuming you're familiar with the common practice of trading edible cultures and microscopy and edible spore prints in the mushroom related forums, and i do have cultures to trade with, and even a few marijuana seeds of high quality, which are also, due to laws requiring them be available for food purposes, are also legal to possess and distribute. I do not, however, know any of the strains of the marijuana seeds, and i do not know the stability of most of them, i may be aquiring some seeds of ASTOUNDING quality relatively soon.

I don't grow marijuana by the way, i have no use for these seeds, but i save them in seperate baggies, labelled when possible, with at least a description of the bud. adding new baggies all the time and i only keep particularly INTERESTING strains (at least on a "DAMN THIS SHIT'S good" kind of interest scale)

I would also be interested in San Pedro, as a matter of fact, if given the choice between peyote and san pedro i may (key word may) opt for the latter, ONLY due to how quickly it grows. Peyote is still beyond all comprehension in it's beauty as an organism as far as i'm concerned, and i'd like to give it the conditions in which it's beauty can thrive, if i can clone it enough times i WILL be naturalizing these babies into local parks and stuff, where they can thrive in abundance alongside the prickly pears which currently thrive so GOD DAMNED abundantly (i'd like to learn how to make wine from them, they taste good but they aren't worth eating when you've got grocery stores.)

Also http://www.shaman-australis.com/~earthalchemy/earthalchemy.htm is a good place to get seeds in Canada.

in the ussa, peyote seeds are a big no-no (as is cultivation)(although other species within genus Lophophora seem to be OK...)
there may be some euro, aussie, or canadian vendors who will ship here, but you take your chances with customs...
sanpedro & related cactus seeds & live cuttings (genus Trichocereus) are legal, and cultivation is legal as well, in ussa... but, ummmm, "harvesting" for consumption might still be considered illegal (that is, if "they" catch you, right?)

Should this be in marketplace? You might get better results there.

with a little searching you should be able to find a few foreign vendors that will ship live, bare-root lopho cuttings to you regardless of your location.  They're not exactly cheap ($20+ each for ~4cm buttons), but I've gotten them that way, as have others I know.  Beats waiting 5-10 years for decent sized buttons from seed IMO

All i really need is a tissue sample, and seeds are fine for me, i don't mind waiting, i'm really more interested in the biological beauty of it, even if i grow them from culture i'll still grow them from seeds as well, just for the reward of their beauty and study.

I'm assuming Ussa refers to USA... which i find amusing.

thanks guys i appreciate your help
