OK i have come into possession of some cacti and found a large patch just growing by a trail and I'm 99% surer its sanpedro
I'm pretty sure that its sanpedro and the cacti i took it off was quite large and there were several other areas that were cleanly cut and had callused over. I'm planning on making chimora next sat and tripping sat night.

yes but
that is too small and tip cuttings should be planted not eaten
it makes sense to use all the rest of the growth for your own purposes and plant the tip so the plant can keep growing at a steady pace
doesnt it make sense?

That, sir, is indeed a san pedro.
Enjoy your pedro. They seem prickly at first, but you grow to love them

Me, I'd say 9 inches for a first -- in fact, that's exactly what I was planning on myself. Also probably depends on how wide the thing is, on average, age of the cactus, and so on. I heard that you can expect a 400mg dose from 12oz of fresh San Pedro, and that's about Huxley strength.

I have used san pedro many times. That certainly does look like the pedro.
I have almost never had a foot of pedro that was visually even as intense as 1.5-2 grams of shrooms. I know visuals are likely not entirely what you are looking for. But its a good comparison.
I have had a foot of pedro that was FAR more potent than 1.5 grams of mushrooms. Its just that most were not, and the best were a bit like an LSD-like version of of 2 grams of mushrooms. 2 feet is hard to down, unless you have a really nice preparation. Almost reguardless of how potent your cacti is, 2 feet shoud be amazing. Most san pedro does the trick in my experience.

Fun fact:
mescaline is not included in normal drug tests, including those used by the military.
If I don't put my days of drug use behind me before joining the air force... I can always indulge in a bit of Mescaline now and then
The same would apply to anyone else in the military. Just don't get caught, they can still test for mescaline if they suspect it's use.

No worries mate. They won't test for it unless they think he's doing it.

You should keep the cactus. :P
AlephOne: "Me, I'd say 9 inches for a first -- in fact, that's exactly what I was planning on myself. "
Ah. So you haven't done it. I have a very strong feeling that your recommendation would change by a good amount if you had. You certainly may feel 9", you may not. But either way, you'll likely wish you had more.

It sucks for me to have to say this.
You mentioned that it had more arms than you cared to count......
San pedro is a colomnar cacti. It typically does not grow "many many" arms unless it has been cut many times. Many large flowers yes, but typically no arms. There are lots of 8-10 foot tall pedros out there. Almost all of them have zero arms.
When I saw the picture it didnt look right to me, but right enough. When I heard you say it has many arms, I sadly have to say its very likely that its not san pedro.
So unless the trunk has been cut, it should still only grow a few arms if any(maybe none, as a rule). If the trunk has never been cut, Its not san pedro.
sorry........ I do hope im wrong for your sake. You seem to have your hopes up.

They almost stricktly grow in columns.

It certainly is not peruvian torch, and that would contain mescaline anyways. The color and spines say it all when it comes to peruvian torch.(which provides a hell of a trip)
PT is also a columnar cacti.
It sucks for him that its not a mescaline cacti.
Hope he didnt "trade" some of his cuttings just yet.

yeah the main cacti has been cut a lot and the arms all come from where it has been cut in the past.
i am 100% sure its pedro because it looks very very similar if not the same as this
and this cacti is also very very well established and i guess its been there atleast 15-20 years maybe more and im sure there have been many pups that have come up from the base over the years.

If the so called "many arms" come from the base(or root system) you might have the pedro.
Most pedros do tend to grow in clumps if they happen to grow close together.
You would know, if you know how pedro grows. If you do know enough about it, then good luck with your trip!

That I dont know.
Thats pretty great that you found some. After talking to you, it seems like that is pedro. And if it is, its one very healthy(beyond what I have seen personally). To the point where your cutting almost looks like a different cacti. SOme large super healthy-cuttings do look that green and unscarred. The innerds of your cacti look very green. The spines most certainly look like pedro, as does the shape.
Thats pretty nice...........

this is how pedro's grow in the wild, many arms, from the base, i have one in a pot, that i planted as one cutting, which now has 3 arms growing from the base, and one from the top, giving me 4 cactus pieces, i will take a pic of it when i have time.
