You may want to put your dissicant into the oven. I put mine in for about 20 min. on 300F. It will take out the absorbed moisture that may be slowing the drying process,and you can "recharge" after each use as well.

I would suggest air drying them with a fan for about 18-24 hours. This will take the majority of the water out of them. dessicant can only pull so much mositure out over time. Shrooms will sometimes rot or bruise badly before the dessicant can dry them. I always air dry first, then dessicant dry them.

Definitely follow LuciferX's advice, air drying is the only way to go for the initial drying stage. I use home made wire racks over a fan to do my drying. Where I live now, the humidity is so low that they "snap, crackle and pop" LOL with just air drying. Also, if you have small shrooms or aborts, just fold a piece of window screen in half, staple the edges with a normal paper-type stapler, load shroom and staple last edge. Place on fan or hang in front of it and in a day or so, they will be dry. I store dried shrooms in glass jars with a salt shaker of silica crystals to eliminate any moisture.
