This will dry the mushrooms about 90% of the way. Finish them off with dessicant.

greed...you will still need a dessicant chamber to get them cracker dry. If theyre not cracker dry then they will lose potency and eventually rot.

Maybe you have a lower humidity level where you live and this allows them to become cracker dry but for the majority of us this just isn't possible. It is more universal to suggest finishing them off in a dessicant chamber. I'de rather spend a few extra $$$ and a little extra time to have my shrooms good for long storage times, thanks.

Lowes you say? i havn't been able to find anything but 50lb bags of sicica gel at advanced auto parts. I'll try lowe's

my friend does this in the winter when it's really dry here, but he tried it back in june and it didn't work so well. he just had soggy shrooms instead...

moving air works great, as long as water is actually evaporating...

I live in a really dry state so much so they don't even carry damp rid at lowes and home depot here. i dried some mushies once and didn't finish with dessicant looked and felt cracker dry stored them and came back to rotting shrooms.
I always finish off with dessicant now!!

this method is what i've always done.. dries a lot faster than dessicants. and yes they are cracker dry. peace..
