Geo-Lite is found in hydropods to give moisture to the cakes. Thats about all I know. Are you sure you dont mean Grow-Coir?

You're looking for Geo-Lite. Grow-Coir is a brick that you submerage in water and use in casing. Sorry for confusing you but I didnt know why you would want Geo-Lite.

geo-lite can be used instead of perlite..

Isn't geolite just the name of the people who make gro-rocks?
I've I have some gro-rocks and as far as I can tell they are the same as those expanded clay pellets you see in office plant displays. You can get those very cheap from most garden centres. I've used them for a hydro system and they work fine so I imagine they'll work for humidification too. They quite light and porous. I should think some movement of the water would be in order to keep it fresh.

Geo-lite is similar to perlite but much better. It will last a life time where as perlite will only last a few uses. It will also provide a more stable environment. It is hard to find though. I've only seen it on-line never in a store, but I haven't looked in any specialty gardening stores.

Here ya go just found this place.. Cheaper than I origianlly thought. 15 liters for $12 Plus they sell coco fiber for less than $2. Might have to get some myself. For the 3 bags of perlite I've gone through already at $3-4 a bag I could have gotten this. Go to the start shopping in the bottom right then go to the grow medium section, it is towards the bottom.

Here's another:

15 lbs for $18 + $5 shipping. Still not bad considering it will last forever.

Geo-Lite is great stuff. It is so much easier to work with, compared to perlite. It is very easy to clean, and it lasts a lifetime.

Hey man, that secret alone justifies the price of the McPod.
Growrocks are just expanded clay pellets. They don't increase the surface area as much as the same amount of perlite and depending on your set up, just a layer of them in a bin might not do the trick. However, you can increase the humdifying effect by either pumping water over them or you can partially submerge them in water and have an air pump at the bottom which will circulate both air and water around them. Either method will increase humdification.
