the hydropod has some nice flushes with just cakes. what is the difference between a hydropod and my terrarium. is it just the humidity and temp? or does it add nutrients, ect.. also i usually case my cakes but i dont have enough room in terrarium lol, so im water dunking my cakes in the fridge for 18 hours right now. after, im going take 16 oz cups, fill one inch with wet jiffymix, put the cakes ontop and fill the rest with wet jiffymix. i will then cover with tin foil and poke a hole in the top. i am hoping this will hydrate it more? in a few days i'll take a knife and stab the cake, pull it out, and set it in the terrarium with the bits of jiffy mix left on it, i'll post my results but before i do this give me some feedback

*what is the difference between a hydropod and my terrarium. is it just the humidity and temp? or does it add nutrients, ect..* The Pod setup is like this: It's a 5 gal bucket with water in it that is about 1/2 full. There is a basket that is mounted to the top that extends about 1/3 the way down into the bucket. The basket has a drain hole in the side about 3" down from the top. The basket is filled to a certain level with Geo-lite. A submersible water pump set on a timer pumps water into the basket, the drain hole lets it fall back into the bucket. There is an air diffuser hose in the basket. An aquarium air pump supplies air 24/7 to the diffuser hose for air exchange. The Geo-lite acts like a wick between the water and the cake. The cake will rot if it sits in the water. Temp is not regulated, what ever the room is, the Pod is. The Pod adds no nutrients. Tho you could fill it with mineral, spring, purified or some other type of water. Terrariums are setup in many different ways. But for the most part the cakes rely on the moisture in the air and the cake. Injection and straw tek are two of the ways people add water to get more/bigger fruits. So the main difference between the Pod and most terrariums is how the water gets to the cake. There are other differences but thats the main one.

thanks man, that is exactly what i wanted to know. now i have to make something exactly like that what if i were to just fill up my terrarium with a lot of perlite, then fill it up halfway with water, and keep an air pump and the bottom of the terrarium for air exhange/humidifier? plus the dunk tek, and plus the injection tek... although i know i can always just case, i rather think of the best space sufficiant way of getting mushrooms.

I don't know why you would bother. I personally would not. Most problems and worrying come from trying to grow little jars out to the point of fruiting. Once you go bulk tek you never go back and things like this device and all the effort to clone it like its god's gift to growing seem funny. Leave it to the newbies and let your bulk tek provide all the humidity you need. Only thing you need to do is open once or day you big old container to air it out. If you want to go fancy stick an air pump on a timer.

i think this is god gift to newbies. it gives greater yields from doing nothing more that spending a whole shitload of money, and sticking your cakes in that thing. the pics i saw where pretty impressive for cakes. but im with you. going bulkTEK is by far the best way, if you have the know how, which isnt too much know. if you are lazy and have some doe to spend, go with the hydrapod. if you want HUGE yields, go bulkTEK
