There is a hydroponic store near me and I went there and asked for geolite. They did not know what I was talking about and I was like "wtf you don't have it and your a hydroponic store? You know the little clay balls?" Then he was like ohhhhhh the little clay balls yeah we got them. 50 dollars for a 50 lb bag. So I am like uhh do you got something smaller than 50 lb bag? and hes say no. Is this really geo lite? Are any clay balls geolite that are sold at a hydro store? I am not at all familiar with geo lite I just don't want to buy the wrong clay balls. Let me guess I am reetarded?

And the most important advice you can get is:
Stay away from that Hydro store from now on.

I could believe that price for a headshop, but not a hydro store. Here in Dallas, a 50 liter bag runs $22.00, for pick-up,

Geolite, Grorocs, Hydroton, Leca, etc; are all the same E-Bay is a good place to look although shipping would be a bitch I'm sure.

If your using them in a pmp you can go with lava rock. In most cases whether it be hydroponics or mushrooms lava rock will do just as well. (and it's 5 dollars a bag)

Yo...Great advise everyone....
I was able to get a grocery bag full from this hip hydro store downtown in my city...Its that "hydroton" from Germany...except, it wasnt scooped from the NEW bag, rather some old bin that had them in there collecting dust. I've read up on sterilizing, practically every article here and searched awhile through some old posts, but how exactly would I sterilze this batch of expanded clay?? I figured Id just boil the hell out of it and pour it into my clean terrarium, then seal it and let them settle and build up the RH.
ALSO !! I hear that this stuff is suseptible to algea growth and such, would using the peroxide/water solution keep that at a minimum?? Even though I was recommended cleaning it after every....cough...few months.
Thanks in advance....

Im boiling a pot full of the hydroton rocks now, its been 45 mins and they seem to be just fine...I didnt know whether or not they would melt or break apart, this will give me a definate answer...hopefully an hour is enough to kill off any possible germs which might have been on the surface. Then into the new terrarium for a test run, after they cool off some.
