4 Day jars

I felt bad taking over Hamurabi's post. So I decided to repost.

These jars are Tazmanian (I think It might be a different variation..I was told they were tassies but they seem different. My avatar is of the 'tassies' I have.) I'll post some pics of them later. They pack a punch tho..lolz..2.5g sent me and a buddy on the best trip we've ever had.



Anyways, the jars that u see are all 3 tazmanians innoculated 4 days ago with 2ccs per jar. There's four holes in the lid (not needed but I had to use the lid with 4 holes..i ran out of others) and a filter disk between the lid and the ring. I'll be sure to get some more photos up here.

if the filter disk is between the lid and the ring, how do you see your innoculation holes in the lid through the filter since the filter obstructs the view of the lid...

I use the filters and just rings with tinfoil doubled over the top of my jars... couldnt figure out how to do it any other way...

Remove the ring lift the filter disk up and innoculate (its probably safer to use one hole rather then 4 for this method but no contam's yet)..then replace. I started doing it in a glove box but I haven't had any contams since I stopped using it.

Hmm...4 days? Hmm... It takes at a bear minimum 2 days for spores to germinate. I don't believe you sorry. Has anyone else had 1 pint jars almost completely colonized in 4 days? Even if you used live tissue, that would be tough. You say you used a spore syringe? I'd love to be wrong. If so, that's amazing.

I've had Puerto Rican 1 pint jars colonize in 3 days... but from a liquid culture, not multispore.

Wow amazing..people calling me a liar. Who said they were pint jars? They are 1/2 pints. Those jars were innoculated on last sunday may 26. Whether or not you believe me..thats fine. but next time i do some jars I'll more the glad to take photos with the dates. I wasn't trying to be better then anyone else nor was I trying to bullshit people. I though maybe people would find this interesting.

Taz is one of the fastest colonizers there is. It definitely rivals PR for speed.

Ive had 1/2 pints look like that in 5 days....but i go a little crazy with the cc sprayin! i probobly put about 2.5 ccs in on jar, 4 inoculation holes. Its all about movin the syringe around... when i inoculate i put about 3-4 tiny squirts at each hole, one angled to the right, one to the left, one as deep as i can, and one in the middle. I have found this to speed up my colonization procces dramaticaly.

Please don't post more pics. The quality was awful.

As an aside, even if your timeline is accurate, what will more pics prove? It's way too easy to alter the date in cameras, or to substitute jars for staged pics.

Filters definitely do speed things up. However as CLEARLY stated in that thread you brought up, that was a GRAIN TO GRAIN transfer and it still took SIX DAYS.

Thanks for bringing that up MicronMagick, it proves my point even further.

Are you saying that you can innoculate a jar with SPORES from a syringe and have that jar near 100% in 4 days? I'm talking about at least a half pint ok?

That post I made back then was a good natured post aimed at you and your business. I admitted I was wrong about your discs, did my own test, and then posted the results that were positive in your favor. And you're so quick to jump on my back.

Ive said that from the BEGINNING so I wouldnt tick anyone off. I NEVER said an incubator does not speed things up. I've simply stated my disbelief of a jar being nearly colonized from a multispore germination in 4 days. Read the posts!!!! I'm not the only one who is not believing it.

I'm not trying to start a war here..I'm just stunned at the negative reaction rather then any positive...Jars can almost fully colonize in 4 days just like 'shit happens'

If I could change one thing about all this I would take out where I said "I don't believe you sorry." Please go back and reread my post without that sentence. I basically called you a liar and I'm sorry. I've been doing this since '96. I know its nothing compared to most. But I have never had a jar colonize in 4 or 5 days from a multispore germination, nor have I seen any evidence of this done by others on this site or anywhere else. Even PR's. As much as I'd like to, I guess I really don't have the right to call you a liar or say its impossible. Sorry about that.

I don't think they are as far colonized as they look. I doubt it has gone very far into the substrate.

I didn't say you altered the date, nor did I say you would. I merely said that a dated pic wouldn't prove anything.

If you would take a second to remove your head from your spincter and go back and re-read my post you'll see I never implied that you were making up your story.

And no, the picture quality is still poor.
