You only made 1 quart? Shake that thing up to get all the grain evenly distributed. You can still use it as long as it isn't that dry. Make some more jars. What ratio of grain to water did you use?

I could never get the ratios right so this is what I started doing. Take the desired ammt of rye. I think 3 cups will handle like 12 half pints. Put that in a pot, fill with water, so it covers the grain. Boil on medium for 50 minutes, dump into a strainer, and rinse with cold water from the sink, then put in jars and PC.
