Here is a question about drying fresh shrooms...
Im looking for some techniques on drying shrooms, How do the shroom growers on here dry there shrooms cracker dry?? I dont really want to use alcohol to dry them. I have a boiler cupboard (is that what theyre called??) where im tempted to dry em, but I have a fan as well...
what do you think??

i haven't been here very long, but i don't know of another question that is asked more often, except for maybe lighting. almost all the major teks tell you how to dry
look in the faq, you can't miss it.
or search the bulletin board for "drying"
it shouldn't be too hard, and you will find an answer faster that way, then by waiting for responses.

This is too easy. Fan dry them for 24-48 hours and then put them in a airtight dessicant chamber for an additional 24-48 hours. Crack dry shrooms just like...boom!
Also, you could wrap the shroomies in a black sweatshirt and use a 60W light to heat it to roughly 85 degrees and have cracker dry shroomies in 24 hours...no loss of potency either.

i dan dry for 48 hrs then use the tek for it thats in mmgg tek

i've dried over 5 large shrooms in 36 hours to a cracker dry state using dessicant and a sandwich tupperware... Heres my setup... put a 1/2 inch of dessicant on the bottom of the tupperware. Put a paper towel folded on top of the dessicant. Then on top of the towel put a layer of steel sreen or wire mesh. Then comes the shroomies. Finaly put another paper towel or two on top of the shrooms (dont crush them, but it will be a tight squeeze). I think the trick is that there very little air for the dessicant to absorb in the tupperware, so instead it sucks the life out of the shrooms. The towels soak up all the moisture, leaving the dessicant virtually untouched and re-useble(sp?) for a long time. All you have to do is replace the paper towels when the become saturated...its really fast and easy....hopefully i've helped someone!

I def wont be using my boiler cupboard. Probably use my fan and then use a dessicant set-up. Where would one get this nasty substance???

I have a few coffee filters setup on the back of my monitor. I put fresh ones in the filters and in no time they are dry. No fuss. I dont know about potency, ive never ever done them or any so im totally ignorant in that area....

I lay them out on a layer of newspaper, then I cover them with another layer of newspaper. Cracker dry in about a week.

I havent read the answer to this question anywhere..so here goes....
What about BULK DRYING?
I can use a fan...and a dehydrator....but they wont all fit!
