Absolutely. Becker is correct imo that we cannot fully come to terms with impermanence, and one of the symptoms of this inability would be our need for meaning. From the Hedonist to the social worker to the Guru seeker to the religious and political and everything in between. The 10,000 things are what we cling to in our terror management.

So what does this mean for us if we wish to live as well as possible?  As Don Juan would say "we need to choose our shields carefully" as in a path with heart.  For you that may be hedonism.

What do you mean by a "path with heart"? Are you basically saying a path you like?

Basically, yes.  A path you are one with and can rejoice in traveling. One that does not make you hate your life.  This is not as easy as one thinks.  DJ said the decision of a path must be made without ambition or self indulgence for it to last as a true path with heart. This is why he recommended the warriors way so one would have the strength of character to recognize when he had found his path and then grab it with both hands like grabbing an ally.

Meaninglessness is itself meaningless,
embrace unsatisfactoriness which is clearly visible moment to moment, do not eschew meaning which you know to be resonantly true simply because it sounds clever.

I used to claim that I did this, but upon further reflection I don't think it is true or even possible. I have recognized the lack of meaning, but when faced with this, I cling to hedonism.

I don't think its possible either. I used to think and say that I was perfectly fine with it, but when I was actually honest with myself, I realized that I wasn't.

However I believe we can recognize how it influences our decisions, and at least gain a better understanding of ourselves.

So you find meaning in hedonism?
