What does trolling even mean??

I see people accuse other people on forums of trolling. But what does that mean?

Usually I dont see anything strange going on when somebody is being accused of trolling.

I post in another fitness forum and I was accused of trolling and I still dont even know why. All I was doing was talking about fitness.

It comes from fisherman who troll the waters for their catch.  They throw out the lines, and move slowly through the water catching whatever they can.

An internet troll posts a ridiculous post not because they believe it, but because they want to catch other posters on their lines.  Other posters think they are genuine and respond in kind, now the troller has them.
