Great news thanks Alan. I think we are safe to say that these are Psilocybe washingtonensis then, and we can also say with a fair amount of certainty that Psilocybe washingtonensis is an active species due to the fact that it displays blue bruising.

Damn! You guys are on a whole nother level. You got a bunch of crazy shit going on with your fancy microscopes and pluerocsytidium and other big words.

Props to gsharp for the amazing work. You give me something to work towards.:bow2:

Lacks pleurocystidia after closer examination

My observations were not pleurocystidia as previously written. Species matches Ps. pelliculosa after independent microscopy was performed.

That looks like pleurocystidia to me. If those are not pleurocystidia then what are they? Who viewed this mushroom and what did they say about the “Pleurocystidia”.

Without sounding like an esoteric voice, I’d rather not name drop, but the microscopy was done in Europe by a professional who studies fungi - with particular interest in the genus Psilocybe. All of the cystidia have been, with certainty, called cheilocystidia – and I am moving forward to obtain clarification.

I will have updates over the coming days and weeks, in part because of my dependence on knowledge-sharing from others, and in part because hands-on experience will solidify this knowledge.
